| Are we paying Smiths wages still as Salford still own his contract?

I presume faddy you are from the tightest corner of Yorkshire - with a mean streak possibly as well.
Wakey netted £80k for Tim last year so I think it would be in order for them to pay his salary come September - don`t you?

Quota space, or do you mean salary cap space?

| If I was a player or coach I'd think long and hard about joining Salford under the Doc based on how he's approached his ownership this year.
Hopefully a few lessons are being learned along the way but I worry this will all end in tears.
I genuinely want Salford to flourish by the way - the more big, healthy clubs the better.

Eden was recalled by Hull KR
Mcpherson was signed by Harris to Crusaders (?) but didn't play for them as they were liquidated so it may be he has left on request following an interminable amount of ill-luck.
Smith did not play a couple of months ago for reasons not disclosed and has now left for his previous club.
Seems to me all has been done with the player interest at heart, and for the benefit of SRD.
I cannot see how the owner's approach has to be questioned.
EDIT
Just seen this rlRFL Siterl

| Bit risky sending Smith to a potential relegation rival. Will just have to hope that we come good in the remaining games and stay out of trouble.

| Have to say I've been very disappointed with Tim Smith. At the re-launch, he was the player I thought may have been the best bit of business - the on-field organiser to complement Chase's off the cuff play. As it turned out, he has never settled, has made far too many basic school-boy errors and has not once looked like taking any game by the scruff of the neck. Letting him go back to one of our fellow 'relegation threatened' rivals is possibly the best we could have hoped for (cue him garnering MoM awards for them as they resurrect their season...)
Good luck to him, nevertheless.

| Don't understand this one bit. Problem for me is Chase, I think we have relied too much on one individual too much to the point I bet smith is thinking why the fook am I here? I concede he has been poor and gone is that lethal kicking game that ripped us apart so many times in the past, but I can't help but feel with Chase in the side whoever comes in isn't going to get a proper look in.

Both, but specifically quota spot (assuming Tim Smith was classed as a quota player).

It seems players and coaches think long and hard about joining Salford and then join (Kevin Locke, BJB confirmed, Michael Dobson strongly rumoured, Gil Dudson and Darrell Goulding less strongly rumoured).
The way he's approached his ownership this year is to not accept failure. We (RL as a whole and Salford specifically) have a long and proud tradition of aiming low. Sometimes we miss, sometimes we hit, but we've always aimed low. Marwan doesn't aim low. Sometimes he misses, sometimes he hits, but he doesn't aim low. I know which one I'd rather have, and maybe that's what attracts people to the club (and upsets opposition fans so much).
