Quote: Bonita Red "I agree with the majority of what you say, except the last bit which,if I read it right, means that you don't think Harris was left with much.
I think maybe just the odd coach might have been pleased inheriting a squad including Chase Hock Hansen Gleeson Tasi
Sau......need I go on.
Or maybe you didn't mean that ?'"
Where have the outstanding players been? Hock and Hanson I can agree with, maybe Sau, but I can't think that there has been much spark with most of the others. Chase is totally over-rated while Gleeson is over the hill and Tasi is not performing either.. The table tells the story. Too much reliance on players who have too little interest other than their pay packet!
Morley was only ever brought in because of his Salford connection. He is an icon and his experience should be used to enthuse his team- mates, but he spends too much time on the field for a bloke of his age. He has been an outstanding player in his day, but that day has gone and he should be used to provide leadership and experience to players who are either lacking of confidence, or are disinterested.
When the team was put together, I recognised it as the "Misfits". If Noble could have welded that group of players into a team they would have been outstanding and he would have been a genius. Noble didn't meet that objective and Harris has inherited, what I, personally, consider to be a poison chalice. There are too many players with too many personal issues to expect that any coach can actually get them all to perform at the same time.
Harris has taken the task, but why, on this season's performances, anybody thinks that he should be pleased about the squad he has inherited, is more than optimistic.
Moving on, I am led to believe that we have conditioners who are renowned in their field. And yet we see second half melt-downs. SDR seem to me to be a 60 minute side and that needs addressing urgently or the fans, the players and the Doctor will all end up with egg on their faces.
