In which case you would definitely not sign Eden.
Poor under the high ball.
Poor defensive positioning,
Hopeless organiser of the defensive line - he gets the numbering wrong leaving one defensive side of ptb outnumbered.
A pea sized heart.
Can attack a bit.
Dropped by Nathan brown
Transferred by Anderson
Eagerly signed by HKR
Out on loan to Gateshead
Not breaking any pots at Gateshead.
If Harris signs him he has lost the plot.

| HKR think enough of Eden that he was playing for Gateshead a couple of weeks ago. Hardly the form you might expect for a team with ambition to go for.

| Would think that we won't release players if there is no bigger player to be brought in meaning that Eden would be a cheaper option to bolster the squad.
I can't see the Doc coming home from NZ without his target or at least a player of greater quality for the backline.
I'd also ask if people would prefer Platt or Eden playing in the backline? for me Eden as both aren't the highest quality and not the best defensively but Eden offers much more attacking options.

I will be honest and nearly added his name to the post, but not sure now if his loan for the season means he can't be brought back.
Also if you read some of the posts of people who saw more of him towards the back end of last season in the lower grade, they said he had gone off the boil.

should fit in well then .
I would suspect Harris desperately trying to bolster his mostly injured backline with a player that moves faster than a speeding glacier , with Mullaney - Johnson- Walton all missing and only Meli - Gleeson * williams - decidedly slow . beggars can't be choosers.

| 1. Locke
2. Johnson
3. Junior Sau
4. Gleeson (Inside Eden to help him in defence)
5. Eden
With the right forwards, structures, attitude and desire its a top 4 back line with out a doubt. Power, strength, knowledge, experience mixed with a hell of a lot of speed.

| Given how leaky our defence has been so far this season, it doesn't make sense to put Eden in this squad.
Granted he's pretty good in attack, but I'm not sure he's what we need right now.

A Wigan fan who clearly hasn't seen Gleeson's defence this season.

| I keep thinking that Gleeson is a player that might be released as he has been quite shocking at times this season. Eden would offer much more going forward than Gleeson and on this years form is better in defensive for me.

| It looks like we are adopting the Kevin Keegan philosophy i.e. If you score 30pts, we'll score 40.

| Many are critical on what at this stage of the season looks a very shrewd move.
Harris has seen immediately that we are just far too slow & old for this level and he only has Elastoplast to help him plug the leaks.
I can only believe that the Loan Players - Owen/Evalds etc are there for the season so Iestyn has to look elsewhere.
So far 3 players (If Eden does come in) are younger and quicker than our existing players - even Platty is 3 years younger than Martin Gleeson.
Thus far - I am very impressed with Harris in identifying the problems and trying to improve the squad.
