I am sorry but you don't know the full story of what happened. You have read the newspapers and believed their exaggerated lies.. Have you ever heard Greg's side of the story? or is your opinion purely based on what you have read in the newspapers?

Judging by the reception and attention he was receiving at the Fans Day by a lot of our female fan base it seems they are more than willing to forgive him his past mistakes.

You clearly don't know what happened then. Greg went to throw his drink over her because she slapped him.. the glass slipped out of his hand and hit her in the face. So he didn't hit a woman, it was an accident. He got 2 years in prison for on little mistake. He has done his punishment and now wants to focus on playing rugby, not on what happened in the past.

I can certainly understand why many people,not just MR,will have the same feelings towards Johnson.
All i would say is that we do live in a society that believes in punishment alongside rehabilitation into society.
If he has been punished then surely he must be offered the chance at rehabilitation as well.If he can turn his life around and become a valued member of society then what is so wrong with that.Yes his particular crime was disgusting and something that both he and his victim will have to live with for the rest of their lives but there are many other people out there who have done far worse and still turned things around.Is he not entitled to try and do the same thing.
Not saying anyone has to agree but surely its a better system than having a judicial system based on exclusion and revenge.

I personally havent got a problem with Greg Johnson, or his past. As far as I am concerned he was found guilty and has served his punishment accordingly.

My reason for not including him in my starting 17 is not knowing enough about the lad. I hope he performs well in a Salford shirt and goes on to become a real gem.

I normally agree with your posts MR. I hope you can make it to some matches because, with this stance, I cannot see how you can support a team with other offenders in it: Hock, Gleeson and Chase come to mind.

MR, would you have a problem if we signed Greg Bird?

I would like to know why this is still an issue? He signed a good couple of months ago & whether people like it or not he is in the squad and most probably in the team. This thread is about starting line up for next year not Greg Johnson's mistakes! He's one of us now, I am not saying he's a saint, far from it but we need to get behind the whole team to ensure we have a chance of fulfilling our hopes & dreams.

All the different combinations are pretty class if im honest!
