| I'm sick of hearing how we will be getting a huge forward pack & our style of play will change. What actually is our style of play? Defensively we are poor, especially defending our line. Let's face it we aren't exactly the best team going forward either no matter what anyone says. We can be awesome I accept bu I settle for a huge pack & winning games than entertaining & getting beat 4 out of 5 games. I'm glad we've got Noble in & it's time we all got behind him & backed his judgement. The new era starts today! Salford Reds Arising!

| I'd settle lick many others for a top 8 finish and a chance in the play offs and a team who others want to avoid in the club if we play regimented rugby.
Think Noble will increase the size of the pack without a shadow of a doubt (he couldn't do much more other than increase it really) but fail to see why he would mess about too much with the speedy wingers we have except for maybe introduce much bigger centres - then you have to find a position for the undroppable Gleeson.

| Salford fans seems at odds with the supposed ambition of your new owner. Thus far, none of you have any expectations bar scraping into the top 8 yet your owner apparently wants/expect to win things.
Your owner decided winning the odd game was unacceptable yet you are all quite happy to do so. Are Salford slipping back into their previously limited ambition club? Vievers was not good enough BUT Noble is when they worked together for years and use the same coaching manual.
When Ian Lenagan realised Brian Noble was not up to the task he went out to Australia and spent time getting the right man. The Salford owner was where? The Middle East!

I think you should leave Salford fans to be 'concerned' about what's happening at Salford as it has zero influence on your team. You fail to recognise, on more than one occasion now, that what Noble will bring will be vastly superior to what we have had for over a decade. If you don't like Noble that's fine, please leave us excited Salford fans to enjoy the appointment.

| I think what fans of already successful clubs fail to realise, is that it will take us several years of winning to show the levels of arrogance they have in abundance. We are glad to be in existence, I will take Noble to set up some structure and do the groundwork, if he gave us 6th next season and 4th the season after (with perhaps a good cup run thrown in), I for one would be over the moon.
Right now, we have low crowds, a team of kids, and a flash owner who likes horses, after years of being the laughing stock, forgive us if we don't demand the earth.

| Just read elsewhere that Tony Kemp has resigned as high performance manager of the NZRL and wonder if with the back rooms ties to NZ if there is a role for him waiting in the wings.

| Noble is a good choice for our current position and circumstances. The one thing that enthuses me above anything else is the prospect of extra investment in our very small back room team. Improvement will be gradual but at least we should have stronger foundations to build on going forward.
Yazz anyone? Bottom to top, now that would be one hell of a journey and a great sporting story.

| Keep thinking to myself how I'd have loved to see Cashmere and Stapleton playing under Noble. Think it is props of that type that Noble will be looking for who lay the foundation for an already half decent back line.

| It's just dawned on me another reason why the noble announcement was delayed, if you think about it if Koukash announced noble as coach a few weeks ago. What would of the players done? They would of tried their absalute best to impress the new coach. But in hindsight Noble probably didn't really want that he would of wanted to see the players with the guards down and how they were likely to play in every match. I think nobby has been monitoring the side for a good few weeks, picked out the players who he sees surplus to requirement and identified the players who he thinks can bring something to the team.
Also did anyone notice the team yesterday was all English bar fages? A few academy lads thrown in aswel, I think this would of been another noble instruction to observe and see what young lads have or have not got it? Very interesting and exciting!

| Dean Bell was sat with Ed Farish yesterday. I'm assuming he didn't travel from New Zealand just to watch us play Hull on a chilly Saturday afternoon (jeez, we are struggling to get people from the comfort of their armchairs in Eccles).
Any thoughts?

Dean Bell was with Wigan, when Graham Lowe was coach, and with Leeds as player and coach - first team and academy. He is currently at New Zealand Warriors as a general manager and it is best to read the link for his responsibilities which stretch from Under 20's to first team rlLINKrl
I can link Tony Kemp, named above by Michigan Red,with Dean Bell and Kemp was invited to be given his last role by Graham Lowe.Again this involved player pathways.
Dean Bell is a hugely respected figure in rugby league and Kevin Sinfield has mentioned in interviews that when he was in the academy at Leeds,Dean Bell gave him a book which espoused the theory that hard work leads to success.
My thoughts are that this will be to do with the future success,or plans and processes for success,by the seamless continuity of young players through the system into the first team.
It seems every one in rugby league admires Dean Bell.
Thanks for your post Derek Smalls I feel very much better just for reading it.
I hope it ain't a wind up

Dean Bell was there, with Farish and another bloke who I didn't recognise. Bell was at Leeds on Friday as well.

| Personally think that Noble will be charged with a bit if a tilt at the cup. Would love to see if we could get as high as 9th or 10th in the league but think talk of making the 8 is a bit fanciful.
Do hope that he plays his strongest available 17 next week and really goes all out to try and instill a bit of confidence as then hope for a kind home draw in the next round.
