| At present it has to be said any new owner would be preferred than our current one .
he is a spent force , JW's whole emphasis over the past decade has been to deliver us into a new stadium and into financial security so he can walk away guilt free . leaving a golden age legacy ..
However the original proposition - a self funded masterpiece where the club would play to the full salary cap ' rent free' with retail , casino and hotel , turned into an expensive rented island in the mud policed by G4S like it was HMP Forest Bank , with a car park based on Escape from New York.
Now with our previous home turned to dust and the Club purported to be in an even more precarious position JW feels to me like a broken man with no plan B .
Most people feel displaced in the new Stadium , even more so with our new bully house mates on board.
the club feels like it has been in limbo for the last few months waiting , either for the end or new direction.
most of the positives we could have taken , reasonable crowd figures , expansive style of attacking play, and a great U20's side have been nullified by rumour & uncertainty, high profile players leaving &' reorganisations '.
like I said ' good news round the corner ' or new management can only be a good thing .

| What I find eye opening is 15+ pages on the enforced/self enduced ground move this weekend, yet a story with apparent feel factor potential merits such little interest. I do sometimes think that a great many contributors on here would be hugely unhappy if someone did come in and throw pots of money at the club and turned it into an efficient and thriving sporting business.
For what it's worth speaking to someone very much involved with the club today there is indeed fresh investment/ownership waiting in the wings. From what I understood people are waiting for the season to finish before things are made public.
I feel for Wilky as possibly his last game in charge as chairman is going to be the undoubted farce this Saturday will turn into and not a true home game as the new stadium Jon has been so instrumental in us having.

Agreed. As long as we've stilll got a club and the name is Salford then the next 30 years couldn't possibly be as bad as the last 30 if any proposed takeover/investment does come to fruition.
We need a total overhaul of the way the club is run, no point just chucking money at the thing without attempting to improve it. Getting rid of Tarry was a great step but we need a total overhaul at the club in an attempt to rebuild the shattered relationship with a great number of fans.

| Whatever your views on JW, one thing should never be in doubt - He is Salford RLFC through and through, and has supported that passion financially for many years. I wish we had him at Leigh for the past 30 years.
Good luck for the future, I believe it will be under Kennedy ownership as I feel he see's the opportunity to share costs in both admin and player to reduce his losses, and has previously considered entering the world of RL.

| One of (if not the) main honcho's at Peel is a Salford lad.
The thing that makes Salford appealing to Peel is the port development and I'd suspect the need to keep the council sweet to allow more and more construction in and around the immediate area.
To a company like Peel the investment in running a top RL side at full salary cap and to run it in a professional way is peanuts. Would also act as brilliant publicity for the project of Port Salford as a whole.
I'd also suspect that if Peel did help make Salford a top team the council would be very pleased as that again could only lead for better publicity for the city and also help future investment as a result.

Really? They are not a construction company, more a land owner/developer. They own most of the land bordering the Manchester Ship Canal and Salford Quays as well as stakes on some shopping centres and retail parks - but they don't actually build themselves.

THE head honcho is a Bury lad (with Isle of Man residency for convenience).

| What you have to ask yourselves is who is prepared to buy the directors loan accounts. I am sure neither Mr Wilkinson nor any other director would be prepared to just write it off, then again any new investor probably would want to empty the closet. The other option is to let the current company go bump and start afresh debt free. That route of course brings it's own problems with the Rugby league.
