Salary cap - you're havin a laugh.: |
|
| For the last year at The Willows Salford announced that we were significantly increasing the wage bill in an attempt to end The Willows era on a high. We are still paying these contracts now as most were 2 or 3 year deals. Whilst it is unlikely that we are close to the cap, I think it is fair to say we are currently at our highest wage bill in the superleague era.

Whilst I don't feel things should be as positive as EB is attempting to make out, to suggest we're flush with cash or at/near the full cap is completely insane.'"
I am sure that first sentence makes sense inside your head.
you are near the full cap and that maybe why you are not flush with cash. Contracts have to be committed to years in advance so if the income line does not improve you are stuffed. You get situations like the smith sale and holdsworth being touted around the place.

| Quote: Bigpev "the grape juice must be strong in Yorkshire, Salford's wage bill is less than a million, Wild got offered a longer term contract from Salford on similar money to Shuddersfield but over a longer period means in total that is more money, now do you understand. Feka, nobody wanted him so not as dear as you think, Patten again offered a longer contract than Shuddersfield had, Holdsworth you could well be right, but he would be the ony one.'"
You are clueless. under a million In a club having to pay overs to get some quality in. Your prosaic Wild formula is touching, very vague. Are you claiming what the Giants paid wild in a week he is now getting over 3 years? Without timescales your formula is meaningless. hope you understand.
If it suits you to pretend that patten and holdsworth are not on 100k+ and that there are not several players on 60 to 80 K then that is fine. And feka costs you plenty. The real stupidity was signing so many guys on overs for 3 years.

of the ' Wild ' Speculation over the actual players wage budget at Salford have this is probably nearest the mark .
there seems to be a crop of South Yorkshiremen with apparantly a clear understanding of Salford's salary cap & wage structure, if that is the case could they please inform Phil Veivers as it'll be news to him ...

| That's a good clarion call for the extra 4,000 fans wanted for next season,we could finish in the bottom four again
and we have over achieved as for the under twenties If we get four to the first team we will have done very well, then when they get a good agent, who says you are going nowhere here then they will be off.
If Phil Vievers says we have over achieved, I will take note,

| Why would a club risk big wages when they were unsure we would get the support. That is club suicide. But saying that are club don't have a clue half the time. Surly you make sure you can sell the product before you jump in to big contracts. From the talk on here we will be losing fans not gaining them. So does this mean most of team is leaving. I hate having go at are club been season ticket holder for years but the club don't seem to care about us any more . They have not got a clue and I am sorry but fed up of it all I work hard and at moment this is the only thing I have lost interest with. So sorry if people don't liking hearing it. I need every penny can't afford to waste money on a club that don't tell supporters the truth also it is run appalling. So why should I buy season ticket which is just going to pay debt and see no improvement in the team.

| True. But matt Parrish told them and they don't like it no wonder know one wants the big job. To get investors you need to show decent running of a club so we have no chance be causing this club is ran appallingly. Why would anyone be interested. Would not blame veivers if he and Shaun long quit. Even matt Parrish was lied to when he got job. So be interesting what they say to investors

I'll break it down into real simple talk, then.
Your statement implied that, because you are a Huddersfield fan, you know what contract Wild got from Salford. I'm pointing out that just supporting one particular team does not mean you know the ins and outs of player contracts.

| Does chairman want investment,or want out.If it is investment surely the new investor or investors would want
a big say in all aspects of the running of the club, would the chairman want that,or does he want
investment and the present incumbents carry on running the show,if so that could be the problem.

So when you wroteSo just being a supporter of a club knows that you mean absolutely bloody everything?
you were trying to say
because you are a Huddersfield fan, you know what contract Wild got from Salford. I'm pointing out that just supporting one particular team does not mean you know the ins and outs of player contracts
If you cannot see your first attempt was completely lame you do have a problem.
Anyway, whatever what was implied....Wildy got a bumper contract.

| I got two words the wrong way around whilst typing quickly. Hang me.
Now that you've got the gist of what I was saying, can you enlighten me as to how, as a Huddersfield fan, you know what contract Wild got?

If YOU got your words confused so that your sentence made no sense then it might be better to refrain from saying I'll break it down into real simple talk, then.
Your condescending approach is pathetic when it is your inability to communicate, not my ability to comprehend, that was at fault.
As for your question. As a Huddersfield fan I attended the end of season dinner ( end of season but we had play off games to play). As a Huddersfield fan I had spoken to SW several times. As a Huddersfield fan I asked him about his deal with Salford. SW could not believe he was going to get so much and for 3 years. HTH

Well I'm sorry for not realising I'd made a fairly simple typo. I'm also sorry you couldn't work out what I'd actually meant. And final apologies, but it seemed I was right to label you a bellend, regardless of my own f*ck up.

Now if only you'd explained that in the first place. I'm still not convinced it means we're spending shedloads of cash and are anywhere near the cap, but you now have a bit more credibility. Thanks.
