For the last year at The Willows Salford announced that we were significantly increasing the wage bill in an attempt to end The Willows era on a high. We are still paying these contracts now as most were 2 or 3 year deals. Whilst it is unlikely that we are close to the cap, I think it is fair to say we are currently at our highest wage bill in the superleague era.

Why would a club risk big wages when they were unsure we would get the support. That is club suicide. But saying that are club don't have a clue half the time. As a Huddersfield fan I asked him about his deal with Salford. SW could not believe he was going to get so much and for 3 years. HTH
