| Quote: Red Tide "This lad got his career back on track with the SCR and has been outstanding at times. He won't be the last player to use us as a platform given our financial position. I see this as a regular occurrence at SCR which in some ways is marginally better than being a retirement home for OAPs (old age Props). Look on the bright side, we still have an awesome back line (for now at least). Good news is just around the corner (heres hoping).'"
Agree entirely, lost count how many times we look to be buidling a half decent team only for better funded SL clubs come along and pick off our best players. However, we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and get on with it. Good luck next year Sean, it's been a pleasure watching you and Danny Williams link up this season.

| Bigger loss than Matty Smith IMO. Look back at how many tries he scored or setup for Williams with a cheeky offload when all looked lost. Gutted he's going.

He's gone because you offered him more money nothing more nothing less.
HKR massive club 2 points ahead of little old Salford.
Players whose sole motivation is money are not the best to sign.
Salford took him from absolute nothing to where he is now and a move with more money.
Thanks Gleeson for your loyalty.

| Just goes to show, the lead up to Matty Smith leaving no one was really that A***d, and if I was a Wigan fan I would be underwhelmed with the signing.
On the other hand Gleeson as shown on this thread is quality. HKR have got themselves a good un. At this rate next season we will have no back line to go with this seasons no forward line.
Gutted

| He will be hard to replace as he seems to make things happen down his wing bu maybe they will finally bring in one of the youngsters and give them a go. Remember when McAvoy was given his chance and he went on to become a bit of alright.
Let's be honest a kid will never have a much better attacking coach than Long, a much better to learn the ropes from than Moon and a faster winger outside him than Williams, what about that massive lad they brought in who's played at Northampton RU and Saints? I've seen him and he certainly has the physical attributes and definately has tonnes of pace.

call me stupid but i stayed on less money on a project in Seedley and langworthy a few years back, because I believed in what I was doing was actually of some value to the people in the area.

So he hasn't played the majority of his career at Wakey no?
You reckon you could poach one of our highly rated centres? Or one of our best rated youngsters in Scott Taylor? His contract is running out, maybe Salford should throw money at him, I'd highly doubt he'd go though.
And if you say his sole motivation is money, well we'll enjoy a couple of years out of him then before his inevitable move back to Wigan.

| CSR,
I am a bit surprised to read that your coach states,'“Sean is a player that I’ve been watching for a while...'
We played a very poor second Easter game which KR won after what appeared to be a try from an offside player after a Dobson kick and then Scott Taylor did his stuff from close range.I don't remember Gleeson playing particularly well in that game.
However, that game was in April and in May a poster on your forum announces Gleeson has signed for you.
I am at a loss to understand what games he watched, prior to May,that got Sandercock impressed....and what he classes as a while.
What with Mason and Misi Taulapapa some of your signings of late are quite baffling.
I have no worries. The coaching staff are still in place and both know what a good centre is...from Meninga to Gidley.( Gidley is now the CEO at Newcastle Knights )
With the fan club for Gleeson on this forum - and with the success record without him last Sunday - he has certain pressure on him to be part of a winning SCR side between now and the end of the season.

| Best footwork in superleague. Could have potentially been as good as his cousin, and given the right coaching he still might turn out to be.

| Just read an interview with Sean Gleeson about his move, he said he wasn't offered a deal by Salford at all, he says he doesn't think they had the money to offer him anything. Yet another reason to worry or have the coaching staff lined up somebody better? (HOPEFULLY)
