The display above the tele in the Town Hall Tavern is absolutely brilliant, though.

| Quote: Iain "I saw it shared via the club's facebook originally listed on the Stadium's Facebook. I'm guessing there is some tie up with Peel with the Chill Factor being on their land.
Nice idea about the 'spoons in Eccles, but I'd shudder to imagine what it would be like in there at 4pm on a Friday if it had been serving drinks at £1.10 a pint all day. The Town Hall Tavern was like the Star Wars bar last time we sent in pre-match.'"
The Castle In The Air is trying to attract ale drinkers with its £1.10 a pint. When ive been in its mainly people on soft drinks and eating. Im guessing the promo is to try and attract ale drinkers as real ale is always a big selling point for Wetherspoons branches. The nearest sports club being a rugby league prob ties in with their marketing and it sounds like many on here like a good ale or two. Due to its location it doesnt get as much trade as the Eccles Cross. As you rightly say the pubs round Church St are busy enough without needing to offer additional promotions!
Town Hall is usually worse than it looks and at £1.20/£1.40 its a risk worth taking

| The Town Halls OK though on a weekend it tends to start looking like a creché.
Best pint in Eccles is still the Albert but there's more life between Lancetodds ears than there is in there normally.
Personally think with sale moving in for the start of their new season a major retailer will be looking for land on site with it now having the potential for year round footfall from sports fans.

Do you think this is the best solution? The supporters bar is a good idea and hopefully if its set up and run properly will improve the match day experience. I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Etihad last month and if we could replicate something similar that would meet our needs.
I agree the Albert is the best place for a pint.

Christ that would be brilliant but can't see it myself, worryingly I was at the stadium this morning and nothing was either being erected or from what I have seen been delivered for the fans zone, I'm hoping it's not just a marquee/gazebo.
Think the potential to get something really good for the fans is tomorrow as don't forget get it right and we have another bumper home game next weekend too.
Does anyone know if this all down to the Council/Stadium management to fund? if not I'd hope that the club and management company are asking Sale for contributions for year round use and the potential for better facilities to be aquired.

| According to the club on Facebook it is just a marquee going up.

| Its going to be a marquee for two games and then moving to a space in the stadium.
We have Sale to thank for this.
£3 a pint.

Think they need to be more realistic with the pricing than that, they mention in the report that the fans are in social clubs and bars before the game and they should have taken note most (if not all) will be cheaper than that.

| Could the club/stadium people get any more unlucky with the weather?
We'll be OK as long as we've got the Olympic swimming team helping with the opening ceremony as it's coming down biblically.

| Was thinking the same thing MR.
Free tickets, fan bar and yet another weather warning issued by the met office. I'm sure our club is cursed. It would put me off coming for the first time.

| I'm starting to think the same myself. First ever game at the new stadium and a kids fare, it snows. Second fare for the kids a few weeks later and it chucks it down. New fans marqee bar and ticket promotion and they get a monsoon.
The clubs cursed.

| I know lets get the Flames in swim suits that would make good use of the weather
Though the shuttle bus should get well used as you spend minimal time in the rain walking.

| I wonder what the odds are on the Manchester Ship canal flooding with this predicted 4 inches of rainfall? At least it might make it a bit easier to sail off the carpark.
Were doomed!

The Saints fans could paddle down to the ground if it did.
I'm sat watching the rain fall waiting to go to the gym, it could be a new sport snorkeling on a bike.
