| Rugby League really struggles getting decent sponsorship money, I doubt greatly they would get the kind of money that would support a full time league below Super League.
However someone on the VT suggested the following;
Super League:
Huddersfield, Wigan, Warrington, Catalans, Hull FC, Leeds, St Helens, Bradford, Hull KR, Salford
Championship:
Wakefield, Castleford, London, Widnes, Halifax, Featherstone, Keighley, Dewbsury, Batley, Leigh
Championship 1:
Sheffield, Swinton, Hunslet, York, Doncaster, Workington, Barrow, Oldham, Whitehaven, Rochdale
Championship 2:
Skolars, South Wales, North Wales, Gateshead, Gloucestershire (Accepted for 2013), Hemel (Accepted for 2013), Northampton (Accepted for 2013), Plus one other TBC.
Besides Gateshead having to travel about a million miles (maybe a slight exaggeration!) it works for me.

| Quote: Chico " This is based on the draft system though, which is heavily reliant on a strong collegiate game. We will never have this is the U.K.'"
I think he was commenting more on the spread of finances in the NFL rather than the spread of talent. The draft system is sometimes a lottery - the biggest influence on why a number of different teams reach the playoffs each year is the even spread of money.
Each team has the same salary cap and profit is spread evenly through each team. The NFL as a whole is the business not the individual clubs which operate as true franchises. For example Green Bay benefit from the sales of other teams kits - they would not be able to exist otherwise and definately would not be able to win a Superbowl.
Superleague operates under a compromised franchise system which results in the same teams at the top each year as well as clubs like Bradford and Wakefield struggling financially.
The problem is trying to convince established independent businesses such as Wigan to agree to form a conglomerate with all the other team effectively reducing their profits - no chance unless a lot more money is somehow generated.

What divine right do Salford have to be in Super League though? What could we seriously offer? Just trying to be in realistic. I think it would be unfair on Cas or Wakefield as they have better record in terms of producing talent and generating support. Widnes gave it the biggun' saying they be averaging 7000+ but in theory it was never going to happen, they are the whipping boys, I see similarities between ourselves and Widnes.

It always gets me this. It's quite a socialist concept for a capitalist nation.
It wouldn't happen here because a) it's an alien concept; b) the clubs and its fans are too proud; and c) the buy-in level would be too high to justify (unless R.L's profile went through the roof).

I think the table was just split up in relation to the current league positions.

Woah, I didn't come up with the tables/idea as I said it was some guy on the VT knocking around with an idea, as it stands I woulnd include us in a top flight if a decision like the example came about.

I wasn't having a pop, I was just saying, as much as I'd like to be a SL club in theory we are mile apart from the top 4-5 sides, in both playing personnel and administratively.

We'll always end up where we deserve to end up, that's the bottom line. If we end up down there then we end up down there - I don't remember it being that dark. Plus, with that suggested system, it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.

Trust me if you take away the days out and just go to the games like I was doing in 2008 it was dark very dark, we were rubbish, no atmoshere home or away, no big numbers of opposition fans to speak of.
It's a slow slow death imo in the championship get out in 3 years or your history.
KOTS made up league would be better, not as dark but still not exciting.
