i was a little too he is a very honest player, but not a world beater and he have a few second rowers, i think mark flanagan has added to our team but would not of minded if we had re-signed

Agree with Mitch.
Give good young players not getting game time at the big clubs a chane, and dont over strech ourselves with older big money signings (like Bradford).

| On the age thing, I'm sure the majority of our fans would take a punt on Morley if he was available & wanted to come home and he is what 35? Not saying O'Meley is as good but not far short and is considerably younger. As much as I to would prefer to have younger guys coming through & given a chance I think at prop we need an experienced pack leader and feel MO would compliment the massively improved 'New Feka' next season and give our halves (hoping Smithy signs a new deal) even more time & space to do their damage.

| Quote: Michigan red "I'd say he is, pretty much widely excepted that a decent prop gets better up to his early 30's. I'd say that MO would be a decent addition to the squad. Still to be convinced that McPherson is a good buy, brilliant when on the field but not on it enough for me.
Also what I would gaurd against when looking at the O'Meleys of this world is look what happened last time we had a good season and made the play off's, we went out and bought the likes of Edmondson who on papaer looked good and ended up dragging us to the bottom, think we ideally need to look to continue strengthening as we have in mainly looking for younger players who aren't getting thier big break at other teams.'"
I think there was slightly more to it than signing Edmonson that dragged us to the bottom!!!!!
Despite being injury prone he was actually a class player. I remember when he first came he was always looking to off load, it was on as well but we never backed him up. At that point he realised it wasn't on and then stopped doing it. We never played to his strengths at all. But then the whole team underperformed on our way to the bottom. Some much more than edmonson ever did

If we looking for a front row, surely it would be worth while to try and get Morley for a year? Think this would be a coup as Morley is still pretty much a name around Salford.
Looking at the OOC players viewtopic.php?f=2&t=522888&start=40 there seems to be a fair few decent players up for grabs. If it's youth we after could we tempt Ambler, Turner back? Personally I'd like to see Clough and Dixon from Saints. Mike Mc from Wigan is a good hooker maybe Fielden? If it we me I'd be talking to the agents early to see if we can beat some club to the signatures to players.

He's Hull's primary kicker and consequently has greater game time despite having played 1 less . other than that there's not that much difference , Adamson might point out that Tickle ended up on the losing side when he played against him
I don't normally refer to stats but somehow you can't always get through to some people.
Adamson is not our best second row, far from it. His attack is well below par.
And i can't believe your comment saying "Other than that there's not that much difference in their games. Excuse Me.
Adamson 77 carries, making 450 metres, 2 busts in 8 appearances.
Tickle 108 carries, making 608 metres, 16 busts in 7 appearances.
Can you see the difference now. Hardly the same is it......

Now that's an interesting question, calculator always at the ready and I see that Mr Tickle does 5.6 metres per carry and Mr Adamson 5.8
Over to you Mr Inferno!

| What would Adamson's figures look like if he didn't pick up the knock on to go 40/50 meters in the build up to Gibson's try?

| The fact is DI doesn't like Adamson.
Whether he turns into a world beating forward or not would not make any difference. It's not a valid argument to say a player is rubbish just because of personal dislike. From my point of view, he is not a world beater, but he makes up in the areas he lacks with hard work. These things balance out. Considering we are definately more beggars than choosers having a go at a young lad achieves nothing. If we'd have had the pick of RL players and a SL Grand Final win under our belt I'd be more critical. The fact is we are a team mid to lower table and we work with what we can afford. (Are you listening Bradford )

It's not a personal dislike, it's an observation of many games scratching my head trying to adjudicate his abilities. Call me old fashioned but a Second row's game IMO should be having more of an impact and stamping more authority on the field to which i find Adamson is fading with especially with the ball in hand only averaging of 9 carries per game. 1 drive every 8.5 minutes. Or 1 drive every 4th set of 6.
Like i said, i'm not usually a stat man, and my scrutinies were confirmed with these figures. they're poor attacking stats. I except he's a young lad and possibly not had the best coaching around him, so maybe SCR have failed him, in his progression.

| Fair comment.
Maybe Adamson would benefit from a big seasoned Forward to help spur his game on? On a personal note, forwards tend to improve with age, barring any injury and I feel that there is a lot to come from him. It might not happen with Salford, it might not happen straight away, but there is flashes of the player he could be emerging atm.

Quoting statistics 'by match' is a bit misleading. You need to get the figures 'by minute' to allow for the fact that he's started from the bench in a number of games this season. The same goes for the comparison with Danny Tickle.
