The problem is that the club should be looking for my business not just thinking he'll come again next year, as someone else says someone is paid to do things like this and it's shocking that it isn't being done.

If you listened to John Wilkinson in his recent interview he said he no longer reads anything on on-line forums because it's all so negative, I can't say I blame him.
I repeat - if you want a season ticket go and get one - it isn't difficult!!

I've agreed that the marketing at the club is pretty poor (non-existent??), but the point I'm making is that the quality of the marketing has no bearing at all on the ability of any existing Salford fan to get a season ticket, which is what the OP was implying

The problem is the marginal fans wont if its not made easier. They shouldnt need to go out of their way, infact it should be shoved down their throat so its easier to just buy the ticket than not. I know we havent got much money, but this is THE most important part of this season, getting bums on seats early, and keeping them there. Surely the benefit will outweigh the cost, but times running out quickly

the silence from the club is deafening,thats what concerns me,when we all should be buzzing waiting for the season to start all we get is the fans bickering amongst ourselves,a new business advertises it self to the hilt,emails,flyers,radio etc etc.why are we not,is there something going on,it makes you think is it worth it if the club cannot be bothered selling tickets,why should i buy one.common salford let the fans know what the hell you have got planned.

OK then, if the club WONT tell us and you HAVE bought one, how much are they then? and why would i want to go down to the club when i can pay over the phone (if they ring). As M.R said, they should be chasing us for business. yes we will be getting one. Again the club needs to change its attitude how it runs its business, every day people are losing their jobs ( and i could be soon ). People are going to be very careful now with thier money and the club need to be tempting people to part with what little money is spare.

Are the definitely on "open" sale, as opposed to existing season ticket holders? I Saw a comment on facebook saying that a photo of the sheet in the shop showing prices offered for existing ST holders (inc the 5-year deal) were not the confirmed 2012 prices for others.

I've just rung the club to enquire about my season ticket for 2012 and been told the price increases TODAY !!!!!

I can't believe this, if true what are the club up to? I like many others have not received any info' I didn't get a leaflet at the last game, what is going on at the Reds? I have been discussing with friends where we might go in the new stadium, favourite at the mo' is standing. At this rate I might be listening on Radio Manchester.

So the club have no responsibility to promote STs or contact existing/new supporters about them?

I was told stuff would be posted out soon. I've had trouble previously in making contact with the club via email. I don't have chance to ring the club during office hours. But it's for normal for every other club I support to contact existing supporters about STs, memberships and everything else. They also market to new supporters as well. So far, Salford are failing on both fronts. As I've mentioned previously, I never had any paperwork about the 3 and 5 year STs.

If (and I say "if"icon_wink.gif prices have gone up today, earlier than usual, with no paperwork sent to existing members and ST holders then it's an absolute scandal. Of course, I'm not entirely convinced that will be the case. But this is a problem and, rather than just accusing people of whinging for the sake of it and telling everyone to stop moaning and just ring up the shop, maybe you could just sit back and take in the point people are trying to make?
