We have a 'promising' rather than 'proven' Coach, a Team of 'have beens' and 'might be's' who haven't seen the the top eight since 2006. So far, we've signed a Crusaders cast off, a Saints reserve and crocked Aussie. We've a Chairman with a big heart surrounded by numpties and the smallest fan base in the Country..................oh! and we've no money.

Apart from a new Stadium, it doesn't read too well does it! How do we expect to make any decent signings? Why would Morley leave Warrington if there's any hope of playing on there?

Myself and many other die-hards will no doubt be signing up for another season, but I'm under no illusion that things are going to improve either on or off the field. The disappointment of the last season at the Willows really hurt, the Club have gone backwards for 5 years and there's no evidence so far that things may change.

We can only hope that early sales of season tickets are good and the Chairman may be tempted to take another gamble with a top class siging or two, but I'm not holding my breath.

Keeping the faith is TOUGH when you follow Salford.

I dont agree. I fear when he publicly came out and blasted the fact that he had the wool pulled over his eye's, and (as mentioned above) didn't want to do the same job Salford wanted him to was giving him self a "plan B"

I fear he's at least made everyone aware of how "bad" things are so he can consider his options!

At the end of the day SM faced the same problems - but my opinion of the man, is a Leach who wouldn't dare give up a good thing - allegedly this didn't do his health any good and taking the cash and keeping quiet seemed in the end result in his early departure.

I think MP is a completely different mould - a man genuinely wants to do well. Lets not forget - he's a youngish coach who I presume wants to make a name for himself... Did he think he could do this at Salford when SS came over and painted a rosy picture ? Probably. Does he realistically think he can do it now. Undoubtedly not.

I fear when he publicly announced how different things were to what he had been told, he was making an escape route for himself. If not why announce it? if he can make the changes then surely he would just quietly get on with it.

He didn't come out and blast a few area's of the club, he came out and stated the club's considered a laughing stock in SL, I'm not saying the mans wrong, but to go to the extreme's he did indicate only one thing. Diggin a tunnel back down under.

When does training start? Surely if he's here first day of training that will/should end all of the rumours?!

I personally think that MP said what he said to fire a rocket up the ar$e$ of the collective powers that be at the club and maybe even push them into backing him with a bit of extra cash for player. Think though MP has seen that you could throw the maximum cap money at Salford and you'd not get anything other than a few star players but no great sucsess and almost certainly it would be the same old same old behind the scenes.
If what I have been told today by someone I trust implicately is true then there is one very big signing who will be worth his weight in gold in column inches and bums on seats.

Doubt MP would cut and run until he's given it a full season and thus the chance to make a name for himself.

His comments in the match day program, & after the game, would suggest MP has taken the club/fans to heart. As we have with him.

Since he's quite an outspoken person I would suggest if there were any doubts in his mind, we'd all know about it by now. Here we have a man that could really take the club forward.

Or could it be he will be held back by the likes of tarry and you know who, I agree with you but wilky must back this guy to the hilt and bite the bullet and get rid,clear it out,the aparthy that seems to me that we have had for the past ,god knows how many years.We havent progressed on the field for yea rs since K.H. Off the field that in my eyes is worse,yeah we are moving to a new stadium, but thats it,its not ours,they cannot even tell us simply how much its going to cost us for a season ticket. I now will not buy a season ticket and just go to the games i want to,just cannot be doing with this bullcrap.

by the sound of it he has moved the club forward in the short time he has been here.
MP is a god send, i just hope the club and the players under him give him what he needs to make his role coaching salford city reds a success.

He hasn't taken the club forwards yet . He's just pulled the curtains back and the light has shone in on how weak the club really is with its onfield activities. for that and that alone some fans have taken to him , for being honest.
His decision is an easy one , quit now and he'll never get another chance of a top level coaching position in S.L. , or continue and with limited resources he may not take the club forward , get sacked and never get another chance of a top level coaching position ..
one things for certain , with Parish Head coach & Long assistant, quotes won't be in short supply
