Everything I've heard Matt talk about since arriving has been absolute common sense and a breath of fresh air - frankly I find the notion that he's experiencing resistance depressing when it's blindingly obvious that the club cannot continue in the same way as we have been if we ever want to improve.

Fully agree, this approach has been required for a very long time. Get it all out in the open I say as its the only way to weed out the 'resistors' to change and eventually move forward. Let him rip the place to pieces.

Seems to be the aged old problem with Salford though. The team obviously need investment but where does that come from on £4k crowds?? There doesn't seem to be a white knight with deep pockets coming on board any time soon.

I'm constantly frustrated by Salford and always have that thought that we could be doing so much better - but could we really with our current resources?? I honestly don't know the answer but my own thoughts are yes.

For years and years we hear people from all quarters tell us how unproffessional the clubs run - why has there been no change??? Are we the only club run this badly?

We've not had a Tarry out thread for a good old while on here (I miss those hardy days!!) but he, after all, is the chief executive of the club - doesn't the way the club is run stop and start with him?? I personally don't feel that the club has made enough tangible progress over the last 10-15 years for him to still be comfortably sat at the head of the table.

I'm sure I'll get condemned by the masses for raising this and yes I have to admit that I have no idea whatsoever what Tarry actually does for us or has done for us in his current role. Surely though if the same problems are cropping up year on year then questions have to be asked??

Wilky is above reproach for the simple reason that without him we wouldn't have a club to moan about, I just fear the people around him are not the right people any more and a clear out and some new ideas at boardroom level are badly needed.

Why would the club 'mislead' Matt? If they wanted to carry on with the status quo, they would have just appointed Phil Vievers or hired another 'nodding dog'.

Could it be that their (honest) opinion of the current strength of the squad and management team are simply different to the 'reality' that Matt has found?

If so, the Club have a simple choice of agreeing with Matt and doing something about it, or telling him that we cannot meet his expectations and letting him go.

As one of the 4k or so that are fervently hoping for some serious improvement next season, I hope Matt and the Club get together and sort these issues out.

I will be there on Friday to voice my support for the Coach, COME ON YOU REDS!!!

If it's the former then we'll have a huge job getting anyone worth their salt to come in now it's in the open.

Just hope and pay that the club take this the right way. From what they said about Parrish when he came in they knew the type of character he was. Hopefully he will get the backing he needs to build this team.

Think we all know the squad isnt strong enough didnt need matt parish to tell us that! The way i see it is if you are appointed the manager of wolverhampton wanderers you wont be signing Ronaldo will you? Think matt should bring in a few of his own faces and when we at the new stadium see if a sugar daddy comes out of the woodwork. until that happens i seem to remember matt saying he could coach young players to get better so please get on with it!!

Really admire him for speaking his mind but he's also a bit of an unknown quantity as Head Coach.
Not really saying things from a position of strength,is he?
The Directors,for all their apparent failings,have used their own money to keep us in Super League and used their best endeavours to buy decent players within the budget they were prepared to commit.
I hope he sticks it out and proves himself.
The Board have nothing to prove to anyone,they've kept the place going.
When he arrived,and for no good reason that I could work out,I had a feeling he would not stay the course.
I really hope I'm wrong.
Any suggestion that he's showing the Board who's the boss is misplaced.They own and run the Club !
Stick at it,Matt, and prove yourself as a Head Coach then you will have a power base.

I have taken the same approach as MP on here since I first joined RLFANS, the truth is better than the lies! Shame I and a few others haven't had the same positive replies when giving a very informative opinion! Too many rose tinted glasses on here especially one who never ever finds a problem with the club! Where are you now Salf Uni? Has it taken MP to convince most there is a problem? I say most because it would be a complete failure if I read some of you actually took on board MP's or anyone else's factual stance? Well I can't say I didn't expect it! Will people please stop defending the club as though its one of your long lost relatives!. Well done MP.

I read a post on here the other day stating that most people dissapear if they don't have anything to moan about, I find myself dissapearing because not many posters on here can take critisism in any form against the club, they seem to be be oblivious or turn a blind eye! I now wonder if they'd like MP to dissapear too? Some of us have an honest well informed opinion.

This is probably only one of a few boards on RLFANS who actively seek to encourage opinion (well done mods). Lets just hope what MP has stated doesn't fall on deaf ears or on the deaf ears of those individuals who have let Salford become a source of comfort or an escapism! This is the reality now - here's to the future, hopefully a positive, agreeable and honest one with MP and maybe the odd bit of success along the way.

Agree 100% mate. Can not believe what I read on here sometimes. No wonder we have been garbage for so long if the fans are still willing to accept it.

Breath of fresh air I say, I know this is an high strategy move by Matt Parish but at least the lid is off, no more kidding; we either have the aspiration to do a Warrington or we are about to sink, well done Mr Parish for taking the gamble & pulling the crap away.
We have sold him a concept but he has peeled the layer away only to discover very little depth!
We have not seen him coach much but I have heard more honesty from him in one month than we have heard from a lot of the Salford personnel over the last few years.
This is not an attack on Mr Wilkinson has I believe he as done a good job on a dying brand to keep us where we are but now we are at the cross road with a fantastic opportunity but we have someone who is going to tell it like it is, either we are for steaming ahead or the slippery slide to nowhere, but don't kid us anymore.
