| Jackie Brennan a good player in generally poor teams, whereas Peter Banner was the perfect scrum half for our team of 'stars' that came in the 70s. He was a better bet for the style of rugby we played, than Steve Nash,in my opinion

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.: |

| Without a doubt, Jackie Brennan is the finest Scrum Half I've seen in a Salford jersey, and I can go back almost sixty years.
An excellent choice.

| Paul Shaw?? Not here long but a great player. Craig Coleman, Andy Greg among the more recent players.
As for legend I think that the right choice has been made.

Shaw was mainly a Stand Off BD, but quality player but a stand off. For the record all of the following got a mention (I may have missed one or two);
Jackie Brennan
Peter Banner
Brian Keavney
Darren Bloor
Steve Kerry
Bob Prosser
Mark Lee
Gavin Clinch
Andy Gregory

Am I right in thinking that, on the whole, this is a more modern, post-war legends list?

Yeah sadly the decision (well agreement) had to be made to only include players from around 1950 to (virtually) the present day. So thus no player from the great Red devils team will be included mainly as very few people alive actually saw them; however I think we're all very aware of their greatness and the will always be Legends and for me the greatest team ever to grace the Willows.

| Jackie Brennan is a good choice although I think he was originally signed as a stand off with Terry Dunn, also from Blackpool, joining as his scrum half.
I agree with Leu Kate that Steve Nash was less effective in that Salford team than Peter Banner had been.
We didn't need a seventh forward,we wanted someone to release the backs.
Anyway,Brennan is the correct choice from the eras that most of us can remember

| KOTS you have just fuelled an arguement in our family!!! Of course I would go for Nashy as he was my hero when you and me were kids messing about at training. BUT my mum would go for Jackie Brennan everyday of the week.
She tells me the story of the chant starting in the Con club corner and spreading like a tide round the ground (this was whenwe got full houses of course):
JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE.......JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE.......JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE.......JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE....... and so on and so on!!!!!
What a great choice!!!
