They were a couple of groups of rugby lads who came away to watch Salford and enjoy themselves, yes they had one to many beers but so did most of us they didn't cause any trouble what so ever, its a bit like at the home games when the left side start to sing, a number of you on the right side stand there and look at them like there pieces of shi!t, who the hell do you think you are? A good proportion of you think you have the right to dictate, who attends the games, who sings/says what.'"
I completely agree with you on this one, at the next home game imagine if no-one sang songs, cheered, abused.
For all i care you can look down on us, you can give us abuse, i couldn't care less!
but i'm gonna broadcast my love, my hate, my anger, my frustration to the players, coaches, officials
For the last 2/3 years that sheds been quiet! So we've tried to get it back going again and now look people complaining! I love salford city reds and if i wanna' sing then i will! don't like the left side singing? then stand elsewhere!

But then again maybe not as some people have never been young.'"
I agree with redhazel different generations have different standards when it comes to behavior, I've heard the stories of people in their youth watching salford in the 70s wouldn't think twice about a pitch invasions, throwing buckets of water and snow balls at opponents and referees things that my generation (mid 90s to late 2000s) wouldn't dream of.
In the early days it was all about having fun, regardless of the result we all looked pretty stupid at times doing daft stuff, no one ever got hurt or needed the final word, for me it was a more innocent time.
its all gone a bit serious now and we are all 10 years older with responsibilites now so it will never go back to the way it use to be. Sad but true but I've said before you evolve or you die and to be fair there is far more people in our group than there has ever been which can only be a good thing for the future.
People live the dream and sometimes people fall out of the zone, as long as we self police any bad behavior what's the problem.
Let's not kid ourselves catalan away is a boozy weekend away end of, If I decide to take my child to France I won't be going to the same place a. Young 18 year old lad on his 1st euro away will be going you just have to be sensible and find a better base to start from.
I had noticed a increase in bad behaviour away from home but I do believe its because new generation are feeling their way in and making their own rules as they go.
As for the shed it picked up last few weeks and its good to see

| I blame this forum! The shed was a much better place before everyone was given this opportunity to vent their spleen and buddy up!
Once a fortnight in the shed was good enough for my youth!

| With respect to the current behavioural trends rife throughout our support, it's nice to see that there's no loss of wit and imagination...
"Sheep, sheep, sheep-sh*****s...," "We all 'ate Leedscum...," "it's nice to know you're here...," "if you all 'ate scousers...," "you're not singing anymore...."
Just a few of the GENIUS completely non-football hoodlum related songs I've heard this year... And so often aired with such perfect timing. Like say, immediately after the opposition score. Of course, it could be argued that such songs make us look a bit childish, predictable and thick, but hey, what do they know... We're the famous red army!
Carry on lads, you're doing us proud!

This particular song is fine, however I cannot comprehend how any of those young kids can sing it when we are still behind on the scoreboard?
'IF' we go ahead 'AND' the games sown up then yes sing it! 'DO NOT' sing it on ANY other occassion FFS
It's an unwritten rule that some still need to learn!

Fair enough. I'd agree with that.

| Bit unfair i think, most of those chants have been being sung for as long as ive been watching salford. Nowt wrong with a bit of barracking the opposition, like we did with Mason at Hull kR. Not sure what people want, applaud the opposition on to the pitch? Need to make it a horrible place to come for whoever were playing.
Agree with what you say about timing though, its all about the timing

| The content, whilst rather tired out and in need of a dose of satire in my humble opinion, isn't my major concern. For me, it's all about...............................................timing.
As for applauding the opposition team off the pitch. Hmm. It's become pretty trendy at our place. Whilst on occasion it's appropriate, e.g., when we've watched the opponents produce a brilliant display, or when we've watched a much smaller and weaker team have a really good go without lowering the tone of the game.

The lads on the picture were out most nights in Lloret in the Robin Hood and they were fine, we all had a beer and a sing song what's wrong with that?
Granted we do have a fair share of bells (please note im not denying that), but they way some of you go on is sad I wouldn't mind if it was a one of but every week you remark on "other fans" and how much of a disgrace they are to the club, if they were that bad the club would ban them, but fact is they do fuc*k all wrong. If you think there behaviour is so bad report them to the club instead of coming on here moaning. Just because you think someone is a bell end doesn't give you the right to come on here (behind there back) and slate them.
We cant get over 3,500 fans at a home game ffs if it was up to some of you there would be 500 there!'"
Spot on mate - every single word.

| Maybe we should get someone holding up auto cue cards in the shed so people will know what to sing and when?
This will save all this moaning. Surely the idea is to be spontaneous not sound like we are in a television studio with canned laughter etc.
It never used to matter what was sang or when we sang it, whether we were winning or losing we used to have fun mixed with a certain amount of irony an sarcasm.

| C'mon, after the Hull KR game there was a designated thread for how good the atmosphere, particulary in The Shed, was. Lets face it, the attendance was low and the game was terrible. The atmostphere was never going to be great. Lets just get back to how it was v Hull KR

| you could have started any song in France and lloret and everyone would have joined in. That's how good the atmosphere was before during and after the game. Wish the same could be said about castleford on Sunday, but we'll have a go. No jaigermeister though Ave it.

Just because you can afford or not afford to go to Catalan doesn't make you a good or bad supporter.
Next you'll be saying that only real supporters go home and away games
