Quote: Red Devil 09 "With regards to Willie Mason, Big high profile player. But attrotiouse behavour both on and off the field.
Just another big name Ausie looking for one last final big payout in England as nobody in Aus is remotely interested in the Pr**k.
We will be better off without, KR are welcome to him.'"
The article says that 5 Superleague clubs are in discussion with his agent, Salford being one of them. Willie Mason says it looks like either Hull KR or Huddesfield because he wants to play for a team that can win the competition and not for a team who can regularly lose by 30-40 points. I'm not being disrespectful but neither of those teams have a prayer of winning it next year even with Willie Mason. His agent has obviously been feed a lot of cr*p by those club's representatives, as both these teams are also capable of losing by a lot of points.

Maybe Daniel Holdsworth and Luke Patten (Former team mates at Canterbury) can talk him into joining the Reds revolution!! But if they don't it at least shows the club have the financial means to bring in another top quality player for 2011.

Shame about Holdsworth, wanted to see a touch more of his class prior to the long off season break. Never mind. Super chance for Sneyd to stand up and be counted though, Promotion of the youngsters and all that.
To second what "Ave It" and alot of other Reds fans have allready stated, I think Smith looks very ordinary and lost without his halfback partner.

| We only have a few games left, better send him for the op then have him ready for pre season than risk further damage. Maybe the same could be saidfor the others

You may change your opinion if you watch this video. Awesome running power and great hands too. I think Big Willie would fill the shed to bursting point and have us absolutely rockin!!

I have since read on an Aussie website that Willie Mason has said a british journalist from the Hull Daily Mail phoned him whilst he was in a crowded noisy room. Due to this he could not hear and make out his questions properly so his comments could have been misinterpreted. Now I'd interpret that as possibly back tracking after a better offer has come in from another club he previously discounted??? I have also read that Canterbury Bulldogs are also considering putting an offer to him.

| Two minds on this one. He is a great player, when his head in the right place!!! That is the big issue though, he could set Salford alight and be a true legend in red. On the other he could show up throw his teddy out his pram and leave us high and dry. On their day Cashmere and Mason would be the most fearsome front row combination in Super League.
The question is, how much is he worth? First you've got his pay cheque and then you've got all his baggage that goes with him.
