Because he's more likely to have a decent game against his potential suitors. See Andy Coley for reference.

I would agree with that but I was thinking that he was possibly alluding to the assertion that Myler is our best player, whereas we showed against Saints that we can cope without him in the side.

| I think whether he plays is by-the-by, as I have a feeling we are going to be run over by Wire this week...
As ever, I'd love to be proved wrong...

| Myler, Ratchford for me with Smith on the bench playing in the wobbie role. Myler has had a bad couple of bad games so what give the lad a break he is sheer quality no matter what anyone says, playing behind a beaten pack most weeks and with no outside back to shift the ball to the lad has been doing a stirling job. I heard one comment a few weeks back from someone who said Myler is too off the cuff, what a load of we need someone like that, fatty gives us a poop game plan so we need someone to break it up a bit and try something different and Myler is the man.
I'm expecting the team to look something like this on sunday
1. Robbie Paul
2. Ray cashmere
3. Stef Ratchford
4. Luke Adamson
5. Karl Fitzpatrick
6. Malcolm Alker
7. Luke Swain
8. Ritchie Myler
9. Ian Sibbit
10. Dean McGilvary
11. Stuart Littler
12. Mark Henry
13. Craig Stapleton

| Myler is a Wire...na na na na na na na na na. Cue ironic cheers for every touch. I hope he plays always good to see class players at the HJ. It will be a close game and Mylers brilliance could edge it for you.

In fairness LF, he has been playing behind a pack with no go-forward. Added to the fact his head is obviously not really on it due to all the transfer talk I'm not really surprised. When you also throw in the disgraceful abuse some of our [i "fans" [/ihave dished out to him it's fairly obvious why his form has dropped.
I personally feel he's due a big one and if we can get a foothold early in the game I expect Myler and Ratchford to have big games (depending on whetehr Mcrae has the balls to play them together at HB ).
Roll on Sunday.... I for one am looking forward to doing the double over Wire

I'm long sighted actually
If he's 100% fit both physically and mentally then he should play. If not then we should be playing Smith and more importantly Ratchford as our 6&7 pairing. Whether Myler plays or not is irrelevant to me. The more important thing is that we stop using Rathford as a utility player. Otherwise another bigger club will come knocking at his door with the promise of playing him in his preferred position. What would you do stay at Salford here there and everywhere or play somewhere which will help develop you into the player you want to be? Ask any meerkat the answer is Simples!

| I actually feel a bit sorry for Myler. He's a young kid who hasn't done or said anything wrong but is getting loads of grief.
If he plays well on Sunday he'll get slagged on here for trying harder to try and impress TS & Wire.
If he plays badly he'll either get accused of playing badly to let his future club win, accused of putting no effort in or people will say he's useless and we don't need him anyway.
Could you blame him if he did decide to leave???

So what position does Ratchford himself want to play then?
A lot of people think he should be playing at 6 which is fair enough, but is there any evidence that he's unhappy playing in different roles??
And if he's as good as people on here proclaim him to be then bigger clubs will come sniffing round him anyway, whether it's as a specialist 6 or a top class utility player...there's not much we and other "smaller" clubs can do about that unfortunately.
