All that proves is on the day, Salford were better than us & I have no problem with that - its what makes SL so good. On the Myler situation, it will be interesting to see what happens. Whether he stays or goes elsewhere is irrelevant to me at the moment but what you need to ensure is that you dont break the bank for a player who may go for "free" in a couple of years time if you dont get a franchise again due to your stadium plans not bearing fruition. If the worse came & you did drop back down, could Salford afford to keep paying him mega bucks - I doubt it. Sometimes, money gained for a player can be a silver lining, we did the same with Scully & harris who were sold to ensure our survival at the time. Without the sales of those two, we would have been gone now.
And before you all start slagging me, I hope you do stay in SL and you do get your stadium that you all want. The more teams in Lancs, the better!

| I hope Myler makes the right deciton and doesnt let his agent "influence" it, Mr Offiah should also remember which club gave him the chance to reach and make his 500 trys record when nobody else would have him.
Please Richie do the right thing, for you and Rugby league....

Anyone who is jealous should grow a pair of balls. They should realise that Myler is England’s No.1 scrum-half and is in a position to command big wages. Whereas the vast majority of Super League players should be grateful that they are playing rugby league for a living.

But surely that is the way of all professional sports. So perhaps our Pro's at Salford need to just live with it. It's a fact of life that some players are more important and skilled than others they play alongside. And as such they deserve a higher wage. If certain players find that difficult to understand then perhaps they should either train harder, go to a poorer club where they can be the biggest earner, leave the sport all together, or take their head from out of their backside and smell the roses.

| Wouldn't it be nice, If Myler does decide to stay at Salford. The Club is obviously showing how much they value him with a great offer.
I would love to see him stay showing loyalty to a club and its fans who gave him his chance when other clubs haven't.
Make your own decision on this Ritchie, don't be overly influenced by Offiah, he's there to get you a good contract but there is more to it than the money.....or at least I would like to think so.

| If the player on the larger wage is giving his all for the cause and those around him can see that the talent & comittment are there, then I can't see the issue.
Problems mainly arise when someone is on a much bigger wad than the others but NOT delivering. Certainly that is what happened with the Pies, they brought in a load of overpaid Aussies & others to rescue them, who then weren't seen to be performing which then caused dissent in the ranks. I believe that at one point something like 55% of the total salary bill was going on 6 players in the squad - if then those "lucky" ones don't perform what do you expect the rest to do?

B*llocks.
I sit next to people at work who earn three times as much as me. I accept that because at the moment I am not in a position to command anywhere near that money and its the same for the players.
It might even make some of them pull their fingers out and realise the club will reward hard work and effort.

Think you are living in the past there Nashy. So Briers gives Matt King a short ball because hes not on his salary? Those days are gone - if it was the case at Salford Alker wouild be taking the drives in, also acting half back and kicking the goals. Players know their values and thats why RL will never really be as `close` as it used to be.

| totally agree with nashy i 've got the same info, myler refusing to sign until he's had a full and final offer from the wires or anybody else meanwhile the wires are courting him with oasis tickets to the recent heaton park gigs where he was treated like a pop star and such like,if he goes salford will receive just under £200 000 for his services.
