| I think it would be unfair to say Salford did not turn up tonight.
What I liked was the effort. Salford played for the full 80 mins and this showed in the defensive effort. Whenever they do this I'll always stay and applaud.
What I didn't like and what disappointed me was our quality with the ball:
- At least two kicks out on the full;
- the failure to go for goal on two occasions; the first would have put us 8-6 up and the second would have at least brought it back to 10-8;
- Willie Talau unfortunately had a nightmare on attack, he must have dropped the ball at least 3 or 4 times;
- Cashmere continues to disappoint for me, he's nowhere near the standard he was at NQ
- Thought we lacked a little bit of ambition to spread the ball which allowed Wigan to defend with a compressed defence. The only time we spread the ball was straight after half time which nearly resulted in try. Never tried it again for the rest of the game.

| Wigan stopped Myler playing and the main problem we had was that the forwards just did not make enough yards.
We were constantly stuck in our own half, in fact I can only think of three other times apart from the try when we actually were in Wigans half.
Great turnout but where will these fans be next week and also the next home game

| Everything that could have gone wrong tonight at the JJB did, It's as simple as that.
That's history now and we must look forward to next week back at the JJB.
I hope we have the same official for next week's game on this occasion I am prepaired to give him the benefit of the doubt and I fully expect an improve performance by the man in the middle next Friday.
A great turnout tonight by 1,533 of Reds fans and I hope a lot of them will make the short trip again in seven days time.

| The forwards just did not make the breaks so therefore are half backs did not come into it. Maybe next week it might be different.

| We were stuck in our own twenty to play football. However when we managed to get out of there we still didnt play any football! Alker was woefully slow and his passes were not direct with players having to stop and take rather than take on the burst.
SMc needs to have players passing flatter and the two props to be pi$$ed off more in `attack`. Must get that ball wider where we pose threats.

Totally agree - he was slow and inaccurate. If you had someone quicker and more elusive at 9 I think it would dramatically change the forwards' effectiveness and increase your yards up the field.

| Tremendous support last night. Think people are over reacting to the Coley stuff.
First half was close and if the interception had stuck early in the second half we maybe could have made a real game of it.
The battle was lost in two areas, the forwards didn't make the yardage especially coming out of defense. This was made worse by the number of times Henry, Litter and Wilshere were used for first and second drives. Our forwards also lie far too flat when taking up the ball.
Secondly, If Wigan had have run the ball wide more often they'd have scored sixty!

| i thought first half we played well the effort was there and we contained them quite well. but the second half was shocking 2 many errors and gave away 2 many penalties albeit some were shocking decisions by that french prat! for me our props just arnt good enough they dont make enough yards and between cashmere and stapo i think they only ran it in about 5 times between them in the first half. overall tho happy with the effort but gutted were out wanted 2 go 2 wembely. theres always next year. red army!!

| I thought stapo was brought back to soon, he didn't look as though he had recovered from he's injury, him and cashmere didn't play that well and littler was just greedy as soon as he got the ball he just ran with it he never once passed the ball on,and when he did run with it he got all of three steps.
We had no answer to wigans fast passing of the ball, it's a good job that we have been working our defense, or the score would have been a lot worse.
I will go next week but nephew and father in law wont

| It was a bit of a reality check. We tried hard and we weren't humiliated but we were beaten by team of internationals who had too much class on the night.
Their forwards were superb and their tactical kicking was far better than ours. We helped to beat ourselves by dropping the ball far too often and making poor attacking decisions.
However, the glass is half full. If this match had been played a few weeks ago Wigan would have run up a cricket score.
We took more fans than I expected and we gave our lads great support but I have to say there were too many infiltrators from the round ball game for my liking. A rugby league ground is not the place to spit hatred at opposing players or fans.
I remember the day when it was common to applaud the opposition when they executed a particularly brilliant move and many's the time the home fans at the Willows did this for the likes of Alex Murphy or Eric Ashton.
I suppose those days are gone. More's the pity. I've been watching the Reds for over half a century but if it ever gets like football I'll be gone too.

I go to the so called round ball game as well as cricket.People have always had a go at opposition players.Please dont tell me it has not always been around in RL, because I know that is untrue

We still applaud players off, what about Hull this year and other games when we have taken a total tonking but still been gratious in defeat.
Believe it or not it still also happens in the round ball game, Barca Man United the other night a case in point.

Like leaving your door open at night, never locking your car etc etc yes those days are long gone'"

Wigan didn't stop Myler, he hid out on the wing for most of the game. All Wigans tries came down the side of the field where Myler was "defending"
The real deal, Sam Tomkins was there for you all to see last night, I'll bet Talau was sick of the site of him.
