| I totally appreciated the honesty coming from McRae... and the fact that during a busy day he took time out to talk to me about my concerns. I do think he's an honest guy and what he said to me, he'd probably say to everyone else including the press... so I don't feel I'm broadcasting anything he wouldn't broadcast himself. He's a clever man and would know I'd talk to people about his answers. He is paid to try and win games his way, and I have to respect that. After all... he's the qualified coach... not me. I did give him back my honest thoughts too and felt he was giving a disservice to the talent we have in the team as we don't look too bad when we decide to play a bit.
My worry is the good young players we have in the side will sooner or later become frustrated with the brand of rugby we are playing and perhaps seek to move somewhere where they can use the talent they have. The five drives method works for exit sets and perhaps laying a platform to build on... but I feel we should use it for that purpose... and then try to play a little.... after all... people outside Salford are talking about the young talent we have... surely not based on negative rugby.

| We bought the best we could - and I feel we did right well. It'll take a season for Cashmere and Smith to come into their own. Swain and Henry have shown even faster progress.
Sorry I do not want a Nescafe side.

| To be honest I don't think McRae is very open to the fans. Having heard him on a number of occassions at FR meetings he is more of a politican than Harrison was. he has a tendancy to talk us down in public but think he expects more from the players in private.

| LF, this is Mcrae's game get into an arm wrestle and see who blinks 1st.
Its not the most exciting rugby league to watch and if we go more than lets say 10 points behind in a game some say it might as well be over.
I think we wouldnt have won the games we did this season without playing that style of rugby, our completion rates must be high our miss tackles were low and and when the chance game then the oppostion pushed the pass we take advantage.
The main differences between the Harrison promotion/playoff team and this one is the Harrison team was a bit older and wiser than this one, it was physically fitter (which is an advantage when in a war of endurance), a bit clever (with Clinch and Dunnerman) and the defence was outstanding.
The thing with Mcrae team now is mentally there is no fear, the young players have the ability physically and mentally to take the team to the next level when in previous teams the youth have only reached 1st team level not lifted it to the next level.
It might sound mental but i can see Mcrae leading us to wembley this year and possibly a low to mid table finish, it wont be pretty to watch but they will grind result out.
If we get to another semi final in the CC with 10 to go can you see this team winnin it? i can in a heart beat, the mix of youthful exerberance, skill beyound they years and the season pro's who's job is to protect them when needed and give them a platform to perform on sometimes would get us over the line this time.
Thats why Mcrae is a winner, he'll calculate everything and get the result.

| I was at Murrayfield and every team plays the 5 drives, but why take off your best forward, who is tearing the opposition to bits - Leuluai - just for the sake of rotation??? Surely the arm wrestle is all about seeking out the weak links and/or who is making yards. To me Leuluai was taking Quins apart then was subbed...to the god of interchange! However, how good did Ratchford look? I think Myler and Ratchford need to play more together to develop their relationship and then you'll see some results!

| As for a wrestle - Sunday is close enough to an anniversary of us sacking a coach who favoured forward play - he's now at Batley so we will know if a wrestle can be won.

These young players wont get a work permit but there is plenty of talent to nurture in the lower divisions.

I totally agree, on giving interviews it sounds as though he is reading it from a script just like a politician, maybe he should join salford council, the stadium might get ....oh sorry getting carried away that sounds stupid the staidum would never get built if he was a councillor
