I TOLD YOU SO!

Hope all you Sale lovers and appeasers are happy. We have become an absolute joke. My final nail in the coffin was the last game at the Willows. For many more, playing at Leigh will be theirs.

As long as the current Board and it's complete lack of vision and finances are in place, Salford are simply going to continue to die and long and lingering death. Who in their right mind is going to continue witnessing it?

At least this move has provoked 15 pages of responses rather than the recent dribs and drabs of little or no interest to what has been happening all season.

For someone quoted by Martyn Sadler for one of your contributions to this forum, indicating a passionate support after the victory over Warrington, your posting does seem both incongruous and incorrect.
It has nothing to do with Sale - it is the decision of Sky Television.
If current rumours are to be believed new investors are preparing to take over the club so it may be even more ill-luck if the current owner, who made every effort to bring about the new stadium, now has his last game in charge out of the Salford area. They may even introduce or announce the signings for 2013.
I should point out fings ain't been too good since Mr Tarry left the club - but I ain't one for statistics, anyway.Ending the season with a victory to take into next year and to show thanks to the coaching staff did seem a good idea - and courteous as they have battled against the odds throughout.

I thought making a stand for the little man against big business would have appealed to Salford people - without upsetting Sky too much as Maurice Lindsay, and others, decided the game required their contribution and it seems they are here to stay.
rlI'll cancel the revolution while we fight amongst ourselvesrl

Well I hate Sky as much as the next man stop paying for it over 2 years ago after I put my anarak on and counted the number of repeats in one month, worked out you get 3 days of original programming per month, so a lot of money for 3 days telly. I digress, I for one will go to Leigh and cheer on the Reds hopefully to a hollow victory unless Bradford have been won and then the RFL love-in would have worked, but if some of you remember some of our best matches have been at a neutral ground at the end of the season. So lets give John a send off and put the season to bed and turn up and give a two fingered salute to Sky, drink some beer and give the lads a last cheer. A few hours drinking before the game will numb the senses a little so the pain will not be as bad. I an now ready for the parasites who slag off Salford and only go if they get a free ticket, others who will never go again but you will, Salford always do best with our backs against the wall, the team have no place to go but forward and win. Get behind them I know I will be.

the key words we have agreed to this and club have known about this for three weeks
so why no leek about this, so we the fans and club had time to fight it or make arrangements.

the club look as bad as sky on this and the rugby league do not want fans at games.

we should have stayed at the willows, after all Bradford, Castleford, and Wakefield got back into super league with grounds has bad as our.

Its a situation that has annoyed quite a few wakefield fans including myself. I booked half day holiday for friday with the intention of watching the game at SALFORD. Now i've had to go and ask the boss for sat afternoon off instead so I can come over to Leigh and watch the game.

Salfords game is one i like to go to away as i always find the fans to be friendly and you can have banter with them without itI getting nasty x

Quote: Alan "Bump!! As something of an exception on here, I want to take the chance of watching a SL game at our stadium. However, your official website isn't giving ticket prices.

Can anyone please tell me what price the West stand (adjecent to the pitch) will be for a concession? (i.e. what would the price have been at Salford?)

I agree that playing your home game at LSV is a big let down for you loyal supporters. However, once your stadium became unavailable, LSV is a fairly logical choice, as it is your regular training base'"

£20 adults, I think concessions are a tenner!

Booked a early finish at work weeks ago for friday nite last game of the season,

would of been the only one i got to this season due to work,

now i find out , its at leigh , what a bloody joke,

someone said on here playing at leigh was bad, how about going to watch a game at leigh thats even worse,

so for me its one of 2 options, i cant go on sat nite im away, so i either go n watch the under 20s or dont watch any,

if i was a regular this season , i would vote with my feet and not go to leigh, but turn up on friday nite at salford and watch the under20s, because lets face it folks, most of the under20s will be in the first team next season, because thats about all we can afford to pay, if we lucky.

how much to get in friday nite at salford and how much for parking ???

if we all turn up i bet there wont be a bar open !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£5 to get in, or free with a season ticket. Parking is free.

Much sympathy for Salford fans - I'd be hacked off if our last home game of the season was moved.

I could kind of understand it if the move meant both games were kicking off at the same time, but as the Bradford v Catalans game will be over before we kick off, any 'drama' they wanted to create is effectively void; the whole thing just seems ill-conceived, badly thought out and without any regard for the impact on the Salford club or supporters.

Poor show.

What, lower league finals? Bit of difference, unless I've forgotten something?

Quote: Bigpev "Apologies, didn't explain myself very well. What I meant was that if we (Salford) are scheduled for a home league game on a particular weekend (be it Friday, Saturday or whenever sky decide) then surely it can't be that difficult to ensure that Sale have an away fixture assigned for the same weekend therefore avoiding any possibilty of a clash.'"

Now that I do agree with and it should be something that Salford, Sale and everyone else involved sit down and look at for next season. But whilst it's bad planning to have both teams scheduled at home one weekend, at least we did initially have priority in this case.

Whether attending on Saturday or not, take a minute to get your thoughts across:

The reply.
Whilst your frustration at the change of venue for the Stobart Super League Round 27 fixture, Salford City Reds v Wakefield Trinity Wildcats is understandable, please be assured that it is not the case that ‘no consideration was given to supporters.’

The scheduling of televised Super Leaguer fixtures can sometimes create thorny issues, not least in the latter half of the season when matches are selected because of their relevance to the race for the play-offs/the battle for the League Leaders Shield etc.

This is further complicated when the matches involve host clubs who do not have full ownership of their home venue. However there have been very few instances where a club has had to find an alternative venue due to broadcast requirements, but unfortunately it can happen – the last time was three years ago when Wigan Warriors switched a play-off fixture against Bradford Bulls to the Stobart Stadium in Widnes.

Where possible, the RFL and Sky Sports work closely with the Super League clubs to minimise disruption to supporters. An example of Sky being flexible came last year when a play-off tie involving Wigan was rescheduled from Saturday evening to Sunday because Wigan Athletic were using the DW Stadium on the Saturday.

However in this case, circumstances combined to mean that no such switch was possible: Sky Sports could not create a Sunday slot for the Salford v Wakefield fixture and it would be unrealistic to expect them to televise the match on Friday in place of Wigan v St Helens, a match at which the home club will be presented with the League Leaders’ Shield.

The RFL, Sky and Salford have been aware of the potential conflict since it became clear that the final play-off positions could be determined this weekend and the City Reds were advised to have contingencies in place.

The sport’s relationship with its broadcast partner is an important one: contrary to some claims, Sky Sports are not a dictatorial partner, far from it. The company enjoys strong, healthy relationships with all member clubs.

It is worth remembering that the 14 Super League clubs receive on average £1.2m per year as their share of the competition’s broadcast contract. That is a significant and important investment for all clubs.

Also, Saturday’s match will be the third ‘home’ fixture involving Salford City Reds to be televised by Sky Sports – compared to supporters of some other clubs, the disruption caused by changes to Salford fixtures for broadcast reasons in 2012 has been minimal.
