| Think Ashley's defence has been a lot better this season and he will do well at Cas. He'll certainly score tries if he gets a good run in the team. Sorry to see him go.

| I cant see Gibson getting too many games infront of a fit Webster or Shenton.

But he can play wing and has also filled in at hooker for us. As a utility player who can find his way to the line, I suspect he will be included in the team more often than he isn't.

It may be that he does both jobs. It's not necessarily the case that the Wigan role is full-time. He'll also be working with Iestyn Harris, which reinforces the Welsh connection.

| We also have Davies in the centres who can also play second row. Watched him over the last few games and seems a decent prospect. Like a previous quote can't see Gleeson lasting a full season so need a reliable back up.

| We've got more than enough cover, as it currently stands for 2014 we've got Gleeson, Sa'u, McGoldrick, Walton, Hope and Davies plus any further signings. In addition Meli is more than capable of turning in a decent performance at centre too (infact the majority of Saints fans will tell you it's his best position thesedays).

| No big loss, very average player who shouldn't have been offered a contract last time. Scored the odd try but not good enough in my eyes. And can I just clarify this, he cannot play hooker!

The only Goulding we're likely to get won't be Darrell.

We don't know really , months of conjecture & Twitter talk, the names linked with may in fact be dead deals dropped months ago and the club could focusing on other players as it were ' below the radar '
“Major signings for next season continue to be fluid – these will also immediately outline the club’s intentions“
"It would be most unfair at this stage on players and their clubs to name individuals coming here but when they are announced it will show that Salford plan to be a very competitive and strong force in Super League next year."
from this weeks new man Niel Wood

| The first 'Big' signing Salford named was about the only player not mentioned in both hemispheres - Junior Sau. So it's more than possible that a couple of signings may be ones that have not been mentioned.

I think (or hope) this is the case. Having released Jordan James and (allegedly) Jewitt and Griffin, we seem to be massively short of props, particularly given that the one confirmed front row signing will, in all likelihood, be absent injured for half to two thirds of the season, and yet we don't appear to have been strongly linked with many props.

Knowing that Noble likes a huge pack, I'd be very surprised if most of the signings to be announced weren't forwards.

As far as I can recall, the only player we've been linked with who you could see in the front row is Tony Puletua, so I guess we're going to see some totally unexpected names next Thursday.
