the heavy frosts & -4 & -6 on Thursday & Friday might put the game at risk as Saturday temperatures are sticking at around 0 so not warm enough to thaw.

As I said previously the Sale mob have hired heaters/blowers for the Edgley Park pitch , although the stockport area forecast is -2 degrees lower on Thursday & Friday .

I'm not holding out much hope for Saturday. It's been bleedin mild all winter and as soon as SL is about to kick off the big freeze hits us!!!

The covers are in place at Barton and I see no reason why our game will be troubled by the weather.

People stop panicking it won't be a problem, yes it'll be cold but it's not Siberia.

Just taken a short cut across a playing field running and you could feel it crusting over already at around 18:30, let's hope they maybe get some blowers on under the covers on Saturday to make extra certain. At least now the stadium management company have to pay for this and not the club so you'd like to think that someone is insisting on it.

Speccy you need to move in to the real world, if only it was that easy, the pitch is fit etc... etc.... unless you can prove this then I suggest you don't raise people's expectations. In reality at 7.30am this morning it was -7 just 400 yards from the stadium, and no covers can keep that level of frost out, the stadium is exposed and located in an area prone to cold mean temperatures, I know as I live very close by. I like everyone hope the match is on, not least as work commitments would mean I would miss any re-arranged fixture next week but we need to be realistic and as mentioned elsewhere dependent on where you look Saturday shows temperatures down to similar levels and heavy snow. We will have to wait and see but anyone who thinks the game is 100% certain to go ahead "come what may" is living in denial - mind you as usual so are the Club, is it really too much to ask that they put an update on the website? Thought so .......

ITV weather's saying a max and min of 6C and heavy rain, whereas BBC's saying 2 max and light snow. They seem to change all the time though. Really hope it isn't postponed, it'd be pretty disastrous if it was.
