Class act this lad. I've thought so for ages. Great kicking game on him and he seems to have filled out a bit too.
FWIW, I don't think Coyle would have walked if Fitzy hadn't retaliated - he deffo caught him high but as it was a friendly etc.
As has been said, he could be in deep doo-doo's for what went on later.
Ref was a right jerk too. Spoiled the game and his pickiness stopped any real chance of rugby being played for both sides.

Which is a lot cleaner than the Flem the Widnes fans used to spit at the visiting team on the bench.

I saw that in the north stand aswell so must have been easily seen in the south stand.Widnes where crap today i thought. The kicking game and retention of ball needs to be better.Pickersgill had butterfingers like ben black.

| Thought the performance against widnes was very good, all the players performed well and certainly stepped up a gear from their previous performance against swinton last week.
Certain individuals stood out for me, Holsworth, both Smiths, Tyer and Fitzy before his sending off but feel it was the team effort that got us in the position for these indivdiuals will be unable to work their magic without the hard draft the rest of the players did.
Happy with that performance roll on HKR where we can ask some real questions and possably a few answers on where in our development we are.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

Whilst you're probably right, it irritates me that a player can get in trouble for splashing a bit of his drink over some fans who are winding him up after he's been sent off.
If I'd been down the front of the stand winding up the Widnes player who was sent off, and he'd splashed his drink on me, I would've thought I had thoroughly deserved it, and got what what was coming to me.
I'm not entirely sure why it needed to be a double sending off in the first place tbh, I've seen far worse go unpunished.
Still, with a ref that's clearly bought a new whistle in the off season, I suppose it should come as no surprise?!

I think he'd decided the Widnes player had to go based on the Touch Judge's report, and I think Fitzy went because of the delay before he hit him - If he'd just lashed out as the tackle went in thne I suspect a yellow, but he sort of waited, looked around and then thumped him after about 30 seconds - I guess for that you have to go!

This needs to be sorted out and quick.
Goalkicking is a very important part of the game now, and in tight matches can turn a defeat into a win.
To throw away 12 points albeit in a friendly is very poor

As I said On another thread a couple of weeks ago it's the time of year when I suggest that we need to send the three best kickers in the squad down to Sale for a day or twos kicking coaching.
There may be some biggoted types on here but even they must see that the kickers in RU are generally better in a penalty situation and most definately with kicking from hand for both distance and touch. Surely there must be some deal that the club can make with our near neighbours. Would we really want another Hodgy situation a few years ago when he Fox'd a kick wide in the dieing seconds?.
MONEY WELL SPENT.

| I agree some kicking coaching from Sale, but against Swinton Stef kick one that was not given but from my position behind the sticks it was def OK, perhaps we should send the touch judges to the opticians

| Totally agree with a link up with Sale with regards to improving the goal kicking.
I also agree that there may be many posters on here who are "biggoted". But, there are also many on here, myself included who have an educated distaste of RU. It's history, it's links with the elitest Bourgeoisie, it's attempts to undermine and destroy RL, it's arrogance and it's strong links with the national media which it uses to monopolise on its position.
