| You've got the biggest fence in the land, oh Salford a massive club!
Seriously, glad to see the stadium happening now, i drive opast it every night about half 6ish and they seem to be moving along quite quickly with levelling it etc. My only gripe with it (because everybody has to have atleast one) is just how close it is to the airfield, i dont know what its like for noise though!!
Anyway you know if the only flaw we can find is the airfield youre onto a winner!
See ya next year

| Quote: red13pjb "I have always enjoyed standing at matches but have recently found that sitting is much easier with 2 children under the age of 4. At the Willows we have a family stand which is a free seated area (albeit behind the away supporters; major flaw I believe but hey ho!)
My question is this. When we move to Barton are the ticket prices going to be different for those who wish to sit down? I fully understand all of you who want to remain on your feet and your calls for the standing area are fine by me. But I would be a bit miffed if the current situation where I can choose to stand or sit at no extra cost was taken away just because it's a new ground!'"
Expect £21 standing, £24 seating IMO just to price even more fans out of the game.

| I appreciate what you're saying Chico and fully agree that that is how stadia justify charging more for seats than standing. My point is that there are a lot of people calling for there to be a standing area and therefore I don't see why people who want to sit should be charged more in this particular case. This was originally billed as a 20,000 ALL SEATER stadium. Now why should those who are happy with seats be charged more than those who have asked specifically to stand (totally justifiably btw). I fully support the right for every supporter to stand up at rugby matches and if it wasn't for me having little ones I'd prefer to do so myself.
I am calling for a sensible and fair pricing policy. I would suggest that there are quite a few shed dwellers who would stand up even if the pricing was the other way round and you had to pay less for a seat!!! Further more I would suggest that quite a number of aforementioned shed dwellers would stand up in an all seater stadium

It was originally billed as a 20,000 capacity stadium [iwith[/i a standing area. Since, the details about said standing area have been sketchy at best.
There's an article in an issue of [iThe Scarlet Turkey[/i you can read online about so-called 'safe-standing' that may be of interest.
I wouldn't be too upset if the standing area happened to be cheaper than the seats; it's the accepted norm. Although I've already said I would pay equal to the cheapest seat to stand, you can bet there are others who would baulk at the suggestion.

Well its not a massive airfield and when you are surrounded with other people singing their hearts out you tend not to hear much background noise.

That's a separate scheme that feeds in to this so won't be on the planning application - it's the "Western Gateway Infrastructure Scheme". I'm pretty sure it's still happening though.

| Thanks Iain.
That's the image, with Brookhouse Cemetery top left and Trafford Centre bottom right, it's the configuration between those that I ([ithink[/i) I was referring to.
So this will happen in due course, until then it's A57 only hey ?

JJ as I understand the situation the link road is still to be built unless someone else knows differently and it will be called the Smithy68 Highway.

| Was very impressed as dirving home from work on Saturday around 13:30 they were still working and then again last night around 18:30 the machines were still out and grafting.
Must be on a timed job with penalties if they overun.
But all in all excellent progress that is tangible proof of progress.
