GREAT COMEBACK BY THE LADS, THEY HAD NOTHING TO PLAY FOR BUT NEVER GAVE UP, SOUNDED LIKE A REALLY GOOD EFFORT IN THE LAST 20mins'"
Your spot on about that Hadfield fella...
But I don't agree with you about being nothing to play for.
Todays Great Team Performance By Salford City Reds was all about PRIDE IN THE SHIRT in my opinion....
My only regret today was that I could not make the game myself.....
WELL PLAYED SALFORD CITY REDS.....

SATURDAY 15th AUGUST 2009
ENGAGE SUPER LEAGUE.
HARLEQUINS RL 22 v 26 SALFORD CITY REDS
KO[/i
Harlequins' play-off hopes took a massive dent after a late Luke Swain try gave struggling Salford a dramatic victory at the Stoop.
Quins looked set for a crucial win when second-half tries from Rob Purdham and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook put the home side 22-14 up with five minutes left.
But Salford turned the game on its head with tries from Steve Nash and then Swain in the closing moments.
Quins have now suffered eight defeats in their last nine games.
It is a huge turnaround in fortunes for a side that was sitting fourth in the Super League table back in June.
The opening quarter of the contest was pretty uneventful and it was not until 14 minutes that the deadlock was broken, John Wilshere pouncing after Jon Wells fumbled Stefan Ratchford's kick through.
Quins responded well and scored two tries in five minutes when Luke Dorn and Chad Randall both burrowed over.
The home side could not maintain their advantage, however, and Wilshere dived over in the corner for his second while Dean McGilvray raced the length of the field to score after intercepting Dorn's pass.
The game really opened up after the break and Quins carved out a handy cushion when Purdham ran a neat angle to stroll over on 45 minutes while McCarthy-Scarsbrook broke tackles on halfway to score near the sticks.
But Salford were not to be denied, their late scores ending a run of five straight league defeats.

Can't afford jaunts down to London for games so I can't comment on what went on but I'll take being on the right end of a comment like that to be honest. Its been the other way round a few times this season so happy days.

I await all the calls of "what do you offer to super league" and "that attendance is poop" or is that just something fans batter us with?

That lad can shift and well done to him. It was hardly an interception though, Dorn tried an unnecessarily clever reverse pass to Sharp without looking and the ball went right into McGilvray's arms.

The dictonary defintion of an interception.

Don't know about the dictionary but to my mind making an interception requires the interceptor to take some positive action, not just stand and wait for some nincompoop on the opposing side to give you the ball. No criticism whatever of your lad. I could have taken that "interception" but I wouldn't have got 5 yards down the pitch. As I said, he can shift.

| Quins were shocking. If we'd have had any clue in attack we would have absolutely battered them and conceded less than we did. For once we actually had the rub of the green when it came to refereeing decisions with what I thought as quite few incorrect calls being made in our favour. The tries we conceded were poor defensively but it was very good to see us snatching vctory from the jaws of defeat rather than vice verse for once. Pretty meaningless game in the grand scheme of things but glad I was there for a bit of a morale boosting win.

| It sounds like we performed well, beating london at london is a great result in everyway regardless of the performance.
To be on the right side of a result and the way we got there should give the team and the club confidence to push on.
I hope the players can take this result and performance and move forward now, last time we created such a positive result we went to celtic and fell apart and then continued to selfhalm until last week where we looked like we had turned the corner imo.
Well done salford good win lets keep moving forward with positive performances and results starting next week.
