More than deserved 6 point deduction. We actively sought to break the salary cap by executing backhanded agreements which were only brought to light once said agreements weren't paid. After the costs of settling Puletua's tribunal, the associated legal fees and now the £5k fine, 6 point deduction and associated legal fees in preparing a defence I bet Marwan is wishing he paid Puletua's £48k second year instalment as he did with the year one instalment.

Sky sports news are reporting that Salford are to appeal the six point deduction. If they fail would an extra game be added, I think I remember a precedent being set in the past.

We surely have nothing to lose by appealing. Even reducing the deduction to 4 points would make a huge difference. An even if it were increased due to the appeal were already joint bottom so no worse off.

I'm all for the club appealing this as it was an 'unfair hearing'. A bit far out but, I also think the cap is outdated and potentially a restriction on a players ability to play/trade and a the size of a clubs squad?? Maybe nonsense but just a thought.

Six points deduction. I feel like we've got off quite softly. hardly a deterrent is it, breaking the Salary Cap Regulations. We're lucky, now let's move on and aim for eighth place. Forget the appeal, draw a line under it and move on.

Couple of points on this , how can a punishment be so retrospective ? Surely this "live " cap was meant to be monitored on a month by month basis , so why wasn't that done , who is going to be held responsible for that ? Football can learn a lot from our game , but can you really see this happenning in football banning someone two years after the event ?
