Taylor is still only 27. His best years are going to be starting around now. I've listened to Gould also saying how Australian RL mis-handles the way forwards are developed. He said that forwards from a young age have flair and ball-handling coached out of them, which is why ball handling British forwards are wowing the Australian game. Taylor could be allowed to develop his natural flair which is stifled in Oz. The Titans have experimented with him for a while. Telling him to never off-load, then try to off-load regularly, playing him in the centres. It's a wonder he knows what to do week in week out. For me, the big question is one of him being truly committed to the change to SL.
I've watched every game of NRL this season, and Taupau is hot property and really would be the marquee signing if he came. I just can't see it.
I think Gallen would still be a great signing. He's professional, committed, and would be perfect for replacing Morley as the pillar in the forward pack.
