Don't you just love these sort of comments?
Would "put up or shut up" be the best response?

| Have to agree with Redgunner and Talent Spotter. Social media isn't the place for an club owner to be publicly criticising his own team's performances. Express your disappointment at the results by all means but leave at that. If the Doc isn't happy he should keep it private and take the matter up directly with Noble.
Let's put this in perspective, what would your reaction be if your boss publicly criticised your work performance on twitter?

| Quote: TheButcher "That's a condescending comment.
All he said was that the performance wasn't good enough. We then have to put up with sensitive types who can't see that all the owner said was that the overall performance was not great.
That's it.
No singling out of individuals or pointing the finger. Let's all stop being cry babies for a few minutes eh?'"
Everything he says will make headlines. We can do without the various 'Noble under pressure' and 'owner criticises players' stories IMO, especially when we are only 5 games into the season.
He has made a long list of ridiculous comments, some amusing, some cringeworthy. It is allowed to disagree with him on occasion though (I think).

I'd agree with that, except he hasn't said anything out of order in my opinion. Stating that the team have not performed seems fair enough to me. His other options are. Say nothing (Fans then say he lacks knowledge and leadership) Say something positive (Fans then accuse him of not knowing about RL or putting a spin on things) Single-out individuals (Which wouldn't be the right thing to do) so he tells the truth and people still find fault. If it was justified I'd say so, like in some other circumstances in the past, but in this instance it really isn't.

| I can see where you are coming from, if I thought the criticism was useful and served a purpose I would be in favour, however all it seems to have done is to create negative headlines such as 'Devilution in crisis' in todays Sunday Mirror.

| He needs to tread a fine line. As pointed out it is refreshing to have a senior figure putting forward an honest view of what is happening but there's a danger he puts the playing and coaching staff under unnecessary pressure (there's already strong perception publicly that he's likely to be trigger happy and I imagine the players are staff have a similar perception in the back of their minds). It was always highly unlikely we'd come out firing on all cylinders and at this stage I think he'd be better advised to keep quiet pending the Cas fixture.

Exactly - And coming from a bloke whose knowledge of the game could be written on a postage stamp as well.
If ever somebody needed an 'official spokesman' then Koukash is it - He should be using his influence in a positive way in order to attract some much-needed new customers to your club. At present, he is doing the opposite - I can't imagine there are many potential new fans in the Salford area, who are reading the stuff coming out of your club and thinking that they will spend good money to watch the team.

Amazingly, it's the teams performance on the pitch that will turn already fickle fans away. It has nothing to do with a non-incident on twitter where the owner said we didn't play well.
Some people really need to engage their brains before fingers on this site.
Here's what Koukash has said in his own words -
'Last night's performance is simply not good enough. Injuries cannot be used as an excuse and will not. We all deserve better results.'
'There is no shame in defeat as long as you go down fighting and try harder next time.'
'Time for all the Devils , including me, to work harder to deliver the dream. IT WILL BE DELIVERED.'
I fail to see what he has said that is getting everyone's knickers in a twist. He gives an honest appraisal, and includes himself in his own critique. This is hardly the rantings of a lunatic. I expect this kind of overblown nonsense from opposition fans who love to jump at any chance to belittle Koukash. But it's been disappointing to see a number of our own fans jumping on the good ship 'Fickle' and lending flames to a fire that shouldn't have been started.

I agree with much of what you say, I'm just not sure that you need Koukash, at this point in time, passing a critique of nearly everything that goes on in your club, both on and off the field - He's obviously enthusiastic, but its fair to say he knows very little about the game, so constantly bleating about under performance just comes across like the general crank who are ten a penny on here.
Personally, I feel he needs to focus his undoubted enthusiasm on the positives of following this Salford club that he is building, instead of employing himself as spokesman for the cynical, hard-bitten type of fan, who spends their evenings moaning about the side on here, or down the pub.

| Annoying when people compare every day jobs to professional sportsmen. Thousands of people don't spend their own hard earned wage to come and watch me work. When you're a professional sportsmen you accept the criticism and the plaudits, it's part and parcel of the profession.
I'm glad the players, the coaching staff and whoever else have seen that tweet and know that performances like Friday are not good enough and won't be accepted at Salford anymore. I would much rather read what Marwan said in his post match comments than the usual drivel.
I notice Tim Sherwood has taken a similar stance recently with the Spurs team, although he has gone much further than the Doc ever did who commented on the level of performance only whereas Sherwood openly said his players aren't good enough for the top 4.

| I look at the Doc as one of us - a supporter - and he has only said what most fans were stating after the match. He has more right than any of us to say it. We don't want sanitised comments when we all know the team are not playing to their capabilities. I remember last year the Saints owner having a go at his team when they were not performing. All this about being upset if your boss tells you what you are not doing what he wants is nonsense - get a backbone and sort it out or clear off.

I think you need to remember again. Last year a LOT of saints fans were calling for Browns head (particularly after a very dour performance against hull Kr at home which preceded this I believe) - McManus told em to back off:
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/23144236
Of course if you can show me where he had a go at the team I'll retract, but I'm fairly certain this is the only public affair from it (whilst "reminding" the players about being a saints player behind closed doors).
Whilst it's all well and good saying it's only what the fans think; the fans don't have the power to sack noble/ the players. More pressure than normal for noble this weekend...
