Big surprise the Salford Star puts a particular slant on a story and fills the article with barely concealed conspiracy theories. But look at this in cold hard financial terms. The council pay Mr Vickers £134k, which when you add on employers pension and NI contributions take the cost to the council over £160k pa. so they pay him off saving half his salary in the first year and £160k pa thereafter. That's how the system works. Does anybody expect then that Mr Vickers wouldn't go out and find a new job, if he doesn't he's pretty quickly out of pocket. The Council is making a significant saving, no issues for me.

Stanley is right. How you can praise a team of players who could finish bottom of the pile is ridiculous. Forget not giving 100% because they knew they might be out of a job. Fact is they are paid professionals if they don't give their all then they are a disgrace,simple.

Still don't know what job you do Stanley. Most of the players this year were clearly not Super League standard. If they hadn't played we would not have a team to support now. I don't have 'rose tinted glasses'. I just want to recognize the efforts of the players who have played this year. If you are not prepared to do that then that is your choice.

Sometimes Stanley, saying nothing is the best course of action.
It was abundantly clear to everyone at the start of this season that things were not going to go well - expectations have been met.
Personally I thank everyone who has put on the Salford shirt and gone out and tried.
