So what happened to the Cavendish Street Football Club supporters when the first re-branding happened and the name was changed to Salford?

I know you're Salford through and through, Pete. If it was to happen, and there's no evidence just yet it will, it's just a name. The essence of your Club does not change. The supporters don't suddenly feel different. I sympathize that hardcore Salfordians would grumble at it but it is what it is. It doesn't void our history, it doesn't change the Club in any severe way. Remember, we have undertaken name changes before and we didn't actually originate as Salford RLFC. We've moved grounds plenty and we've adapted as required. I'm sure some grumbled at each and every change but in reality it's a cosmetic change at best. Those Clubs that don't adapt, languish.

Salford Red Devils will definitely be the new brand name. Also from what i've heard look out for the new devil closely resembling the doc!

Paul, I respect what you are saying but to me the very essence of the club is it is Salford. Others will have a different opinion and if that is the case and I am in a minority then so be it. However, I will have a decision to make and right now my feeling is, I will not support a team called Manchester

Salford will never be dropped from the name of the club. And as for re branding i was in the local pub tonight and heard the self named secretary of the club (tracy) telling everybody what is happening in the club regarding re branding!!!!! New signings!!!! also wearing new merchandise that even is'nt the club shop(office ) yet.... wont be long before her husband is wearing them (freebies)

Bit of an aside I know but was in the Lowry the other week and found a shop selling loads of Black and Red Kooga stuff that looks so similar to Salfords current gear. They were selling jackets, fleeces and T'shirts for £10 each.

I also wouldn't watch a team without the 'Salford' identity. It would be a sad sad day and we might as well have gone out of business at the start of the year as far as I'm concerned. Anyway it's rumours and nothing more at the moment.

heard a rumour(probably on here lol) that your away top would bare similar designs to the doctors racing jerseys

He did say that it would be his racing colours, no mention of whether it will use the star though.

If it does will that be the Salford Star - I wonder if that might make the scurrilous rag a tad more supportive?
