| Quote: Iain "How much of last year's attacking flair was Long and how much was Holdsworth/Patten/Moon doing their own thing? I ask as we showed none of the same moves earlier this season while Longy was still here. I'm not having a go at Long, just wondering how tangible his attacking coaching actually is.'"
I get what your saying but a coach can only show you so much they can't go onto the field and do it for you, this year tbh most of the players arnt up to SL level and trying to throw out plays like last year is just wasted on them, lets wait until we have players like Sau and Meli on the end of certain moves and see how different/brilliant they look. A good set play is only as good as the finish at the end of it. I'd have Longy back tomorrow great experienced player and WILL be a great coach.

I was told he was seen at the Stadium last night..

Holdsworth & Patten were there before Long and apart from the inside pass to the Fullback joining the back line. non of the more structured attacking moves from 2012 were obvious so there must have been some influence .
I think no pre-season and a squad of rag-tag of hand-me downs & loanees are more responsible for the lack of structure in our attack this season , I'd imagine Wayne Bennett would have struggled.
I'm told he had a good influence on Fages & academy backs and they were gutted when he left. That's what Wigan were after when they took him on but obviously thing didn't go as planned.

| Would be surprised if he came back given that the Dr/Noble said they only want people at the club who want to be there and buy into what they are trying to do.The fact that Long left pretty much says he didnt want to be there or buy into the vision.
Along with the fact that Long and Noble dont really get on that well then its hard to see him coming back now that Noble has his own chosen coaches in place.
Having said that i would be very happy to see him back with us.

| Don't want him back.
He chose to leave.
What really happened to cause him to leave Wigan so very quickly?
I didn't have a problem when he was here but he left.
Both parties should move on

| He knew after his first week at Wigan that he didn't like it and has wanted out since, with his preference being coming back to Salford. He was with Koukash at the races last week so who knows.
I'd have no objections to him coming back personally, it's not like we've replaced him with anyone else is it.

| Think its all down to whether Nobby wants him back. The Halfbacks (& me) certainly would like to see him back.

| My guess is he found out Nobby was new head coach and thought I don't want to work with him, whilst at the same time had an offer from Wigan and thought why not.
I say he found out the grass wasn't greener (after all he's always had some sort of problem with his home town team throughout his career) and has since thought I've made a mistake.
I can live with that and would love to see him back at the club. It's up to the Doctor and Nobby.

It should be nobles decision only if he wants to take him back that's fine but if the dr makes the decision it will under pin the managers ability to do the job the way he wants to.

Do you mean "underpin" or "undermine"?

Rumours of Featherstone replacing London in Super League may begin to grow.
