Stayed away from this board most of the season because of the ridiculous negative nature of it all - came back to post a couple of weeks ago after the Wire performance because I genuinely felt this team, followed by the KR grit, had shown they had something close to what the board are paying them. Tonight was a slap in the face to big Phil, to Longy, to Mr Wilkinson & the board, and was symptomatic of the attitude of modern players who cry on Twitter before taking responsibility themselves. Once we were behind, we gave up. We don't have a divine right to beat anyone, and I am a realist who understands that spending a few bob on a team doesn't mean we're gonna be world beaters, but after 40 years loving and watching the brilliant moments and the rubbish, I am struggling to remember any team, no matter how e, that threw in the towel so easily. It's not the end of the world, we have still made tremendous progress in the last 3 years thanks to the owners willingness to throw their money away, and as a result of this we are in Superleague and should remain so despite all financial reality, but I can rarely remember a performance in the last 42 years where I thought the players on the park didn't deserve to wear the shirt I love

Well, at least we can all moan about something else other than finances... Fair play to widnes, shouldnt of underestimated them.

To be fair mate, its not a pethetic post its a truthful one. Why do we bother? Whats the point? Today was disgusting and the players need hanging simple as.

As always with Salford, it's one step forward, then ten steps back. We could probably beat Hull next week, then concede 50 to London

We lost a game after two great wins!

How bad was that?
Forget about us not having the heart to scrap with them early on,that was their plan and we should have avoided it.
Widnes played very well but we had no ball in the first half hour and the ref did give them 2 tries by half time.
We were never going to come back from that but the way they scored tries by skinning Gleeson and the Patten was embarrassing.
When we did attack,the fact that we had 2 players out of our usual backline, made a massive difference.
Feel sorry for Sneyd,something's not right.
More people leaving early than I can remember seeing before
All in all,a terrible performance,and Lanky bowled out for 67 !

Programmethrower, you say I am glad we got beat but on the hand applaud the Widnes fans for sticking with there club & wearing there shirt with pride! Do you know how stupid you sound.
Yes we were very disappointing, yes we were well & truly turned over but, what is the difference between your statement? Why is it you applaud the Widnes fans for sticking with there club yet continue to pore scorn with glee on our club even though we have played some fantastic rugby & are higher in the league.

I'm struggling to remember a more spineless offering since a mid-table Cas came and put more than 70 past us about 12 years ago

Last night was embarrassing and the players didnt seem to play with any desire or passion.
I dont know if any of you watched the 20s before the first team but they were awesome, they beat Widnes comprehensively and showed massive passion and skills it seems the firsts can only dream of. All is not lost, the future is still bright.

Widnes u20s played poor last night, but Widnes are improving and there will be more great games between Widnes and Salford.See you all next year.
