| If he's fit you'd need Ashurst in there, shows we have a decent second row when have Anderson, Neal, McPherson, Ashurst, Nero, Adamson to chose from.

| For me there are 3 Cas players to close down - 6.7 and 13 - likely Chase, Orr & Hudson - if we do that job I think we will win.

| I'm surprised Dantes Infernal hasn't responded to Prestwhich Red about not going any longer, maybe he's gone for good.

i have to disagree with you there MR, our 2nd Row is full of hard work but who from your list is a line breaker, somebody who is going to punch holes in the castleford defence? or even make a good 10 yards clearing the lines
Im no stato but it would be interesting to see what the average yards made per carry in our 2nd row / looseforwards last season, true we have Mcpherson and Ashurst who have come in but from what we have seen (admitteldy its only pre season) both are work horses not line breakers imo

It baffles me how very few of these line ups contain Adamson. As mentioned by Matty Smith in the Video ( here www.reds.co.uk/rugby-news/video- ... -interview )the lad worked tirelessly in both defense and attack. And was one of 2 stand out players. Many may not see it but he is an experienced lad now who will always cover anyone who shoots out the line or misses a tackle. Usually covering a wrong decision.
Against Wigan he run over more players than I can remember and bar him we lack very few who will encourage or lift the rest of the team when defending. The big smack down on Mossop strikes me most. As per matty smith his talk is awsome. Combined with his quick turn of pace and new found attack how anyone can consider Vinnie or Neal in the second row over this bloke is beyond me. I think you need to watch the game a little closer if you think they deserve a place before Adamson.

Succesfully do that to any team and you will probably win, doing it is the tricky part.
hudson probably wont be 13, mcgoldrick will, clark, one of ours hookers, is our main danger man after chase.

Agreed Lyrad Red - Adamson did play well against Wigan.
Agreed pyeman - Young Clark is a very dangerous, hard working hooker.I am hoping Chase is still suffering from the psychological pressure from the back end of the last campaign - Late Challenge Cup loss to Leeds, back to Australia where his childhood is put into the public domain - back to England to represent the country and all the public opinion:Just as well he didn't hear the comments from Millward at half time.
Looking forward to this game immensely.

If cas had the same level of support from the local council that salford have had we would also be sitting in a shiny new stadium unfortunately we don't.
Our chairman has not supported the objectors to newmarket he was sent a letter asking questions and answered them with information that was already in the public domain (whether he was right to or not is another matter, and one best left, so you don't have wakey and cas fans arguing on here).
Whilst milward wasn't my first choice it is a bit unfair to compare him to vieviers when talking about being sacked from a head coaches job as vievers hasn't been a head coach in sl, apart from on a temporary basis, before being replaced.
Looking forward to watching the game on the telly, gutted i cant be there, good luck for the season.

I think you need to watch the game a lot closer to have Adamson in the squad. "He works tirelessly" so what, that's what a 2nd row forward should be doing. In the 2 friendlies i witnessed this pre-season Anderson was the stand out 2nd rower did Adamson play against Leigh and Halifax i can't remember if he played he was that noticeable.
Adamson is predictable, hardly seen him look to offload, hardly seen him bust tackles, hardly seen any evasive footwork skills, never seen him spin out of the tackle trying to evade being tackled, I'm afraid a top club would of snapped him up by now if he was Great as you're making him out to be just like O'connor, Myler, Turner and Ratchford.
Again you talk utter bollox........

| Adamson is a must start, best sedond rower we have, certainly the most skilfull with the ball in hand, killer off load and brilliant footwork.
Just glad that there's know one daft enough to suggest that Anderson should get a starting berth ahead of him.

| Adamson best second row we have? your joking right? he is a good solid defender yes he ran over a few wigan forwards last tuesday but thats the 1st time in about 3 years he has done anything in attack, he usually takes the 1st ball in a set of six laying a platform and for me he is a "ball killer" (ie when he gets the ball in his hands he just takes a tackle
as for having a killer offload last seasons offloads
Adamson 6
Sidlow 33
Neal 19
Anderson 38
Nero 16
Im hoping with PV and SL incharge he will find some form when he 1st started at salford
I would prefer if he came on as sub with Feka so he could do feka's defending and Feka could do his attacking if you know what i mean

For once, I actually agree with you...
I do think he does have a better attacking game in him though, just needs the right coaching. This is going back a couple of seasons, but I remember the Challenge Cup game when we beat Hull at their place a couple of seasons ago. He seemed unstoppable going forward, spinning out of and busting through tackles - probably the best game I can remember seeing him in.
In recent seasons he's seemed too focused on ball security. Turns himself backwards into the tacklers to avoid losing the ball and just doesn't seem to run it in hard at all. Definitely think he's capable of more though.

| I'm with MR on this one, Adamson is starting to remind me of a young SBW. Fearsome in defence, strong running and a great pair of hands.
As for the Cas match, I'm really looking forward to what we can do against a team whose pack shouldn't smash us all over the park. There were some promising signs in the Wigan game and I'm convinced that. Given enough ball, Jodie & Danny will score for fun this season.
