General Patten we who stand behind the sticks salute you, one word springs to mind Awesome

You're not alone in thinking that about Patten, though credit does have to go to every player.
Hard to not get carried away too much by that performance but I really hope it's a sign of things to come for the season.

| All I've been wishing for came true last night. The Salford I knew and loved re-born! 100% commitment and throwing the ball around with gay abandon.
Patten is the best player we've had since Dunneman and was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch last night. How he didn't get M.O.M. is a mystery.
Ratchford proved (again) what an immense talent he is. Centre may not be his best position, but he was sheer class. Matty Smith had a great game too, especially when he brought Willie Mason down 1 on 1.
Best of all though was the performance of the lads in the pack. Managed to totally dominate the HKR forwards. Great effort from from them all and fantastic to see our own young lads stepping up to the mark.
I'm sure we won't always play like this, but it feels bloody good to be a Salford fan this morning!

| I think Adamson, Boyle & Sidlow deserves a special mention for last night. ( As well as all the forwards), but Adamson and Sidlow have took a bit of a bashing on here lately. They have been seriously underperforming. However with a lighter pack they stepped up to the mark. They bullied Mason into submission, they hit the ball at speed. They showed that they are the young future of the club and could have the potential to dominate and become 2 of the best props this club has ever seen.

| Brilliant.
The secret is that they all played well, all 17.
Sidlow was immense,Adamson stood out,Mark Henry took the ball in time after time.
The platform that was created by this hard work allowed Patten etc to flourish.
Don't underestimate how good Holdsworth was.He played in their faces on the gain line all the time.
Not sure what will happen next week at Catalan but, without getting carried away this was one of the best attacking performances, mesmerising at times, that I've seen from Salford for a long time.
But,all 17 were outstanding.

| well going to the game last night i just was hoping that we'd show some heart and not get steamrolled again! Never expected us to win! That first try has got to be up there with try of the season and if Patten doesn't get this new player of the round award its a joke!

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.: |

| Before the game there must have been 17 people who believed Salford could win. Fortunately they were all wearing red shirts and they all did the business. What a performance!!
Patten was awesome; Broughton grafted and took his try really well; Henry was as safe as houses all night; Ratchford revealed his immense talent and Gleeson looked a class act and was solid defensively apart from one missed tackle.
Smith and Holdsworth bossed the show. Hull KR really missed Dobson, and we looked tactically much better. Our halves were involved in everything we did well - and we did a lot well.
Up front, Sidlow and Boyle ran their blood to water and made good yards all night. Tremendous. Godwin showed us what dummy half play is all about and grafted for Britain. Adamson and Nero had their best games this year and Nero's hits on Willie Mason boosted our confidence all night. Behind them Stephen Wild never stopped and must have been one of our best players.
Sneyd looks like a developing class act and Neale, Davidson and Marriott all showed us that the future looks good. They played with real passion and determination.
It was a good night to be a Salford fan. The only problem we've got now is deciding who was Man of the Match. Can it be split 17 ways?

| Bizzare Night indeed. I had us down for a gutsy -12 loss.
Truth is we'd started well last week against Leeds through getting the ball wide early. we just need to believe in ourselves and deliver a full game performance.
And we've had glimses of the ability of out team going forward.
remember only 5 games in and with a new and mixed up squad.
Speaking to Adam Neal after the game he couldn't believe looking at the bench team sheet before the game he was the oldest . at 20.
Can anyone remember the last time our bench players were all Salford Born or Academy trained ?
Well played by all, special credit for Adam Sidlow who showed what talent he is last night. and Luke Patten showed us what a class act we've signed.

| Can i just say well done to your team, we were out thought, out enthused and most of all outplayed. At 10-6 at half time i thought we had a chance cos you should have been out of sight but to be fair barring the 10 mins after half time we were never in it. Even tho i was thoroughly ar5ed off i took some pleasure from watching your performance great team effort and Patton was great.
I've listened to all our excuses and there are a few but bottom line is you were head and shoulders better than us and carry on like that and youll win a fair few this year. Put it this way you were miles better than cas and cats who beat us cos we were dire.
