Quote barton baird="barton baird"I dont actually come from Hull, but being one of the worst cities in the world,is far from the truth. It has its bad spots,as anywhere else, but it has its good parts too.No need for cheap shots like that. I realise you live in paradise in Greater Manchester, although your location seems to refute that.'"
Cheap shot? I was deadly serious.
There seems to be a reasonable negative correlation between 'desirable' areas to live and RL crowds in that the towns/cities with good attendances are not places I'd much want to live (Hull, Bradford, etc).
Conversely, some of the worst attended clubs of the SL era have been situated in places I'd much rather live (Manchester, London, Paris, Cardiff).
Perhaps it's about better areas having more alternative entertainment, with worse areas having nowt to do but watch RL? The only exception that instantly springs to mind is Leeds.
And, back to my original point, I'd take our mediocre crowds and living round here over better crowds and living in Hull everytime.
So, next time you begin crowing about how jealous other teams must be about your crowds, you might want to consider how little their fans would want to live in Hull - apparently even you don't want to?!
