| Quote cherrydevil="cherrydevil"I really think that the worst thing that Myler could do at this stage of his career is leave Salford. He is far from the finished player and is doing well at a smaller club like Salford with no pressure and no big name players where he can generally do his own thing. This would not be the case elsewhere and I think that he would not look like the same player. If he was at a club like Wigan he would have been crucified by their fans by now and would have taken the blame for their defeats. Indeed he would probably be stuck in their reserves by now.
I do fear though that Myler may be begining to believe his own hype and that he thinks that he is better than he actually is. He has got increasingly greedy recently and sometimes looks as if he is playing for himself and not the team. He is a good player with a lot of potential but he still has a long way to go.'"
As a Hull fan I absolutely agree with this. The whole idea of the salary cap is so that teams can develop and keep their own young talent.

| I reaily hope Myler make the right call and he (or his representatives) in this case DOESNT chase the money, if he goes to wire it will destroy a promising career and put Salford and Rugby league as a whole back as the francise system is there to allow teams like us to build, if our best players keep being taken how are we surpose to get better.

| How would moving to Wire destroy his career?
We are not the only club attempting to build, Warrington will be attempting to build a squad capable of challenging for honours as well. If Myler chooses to go there with a promise of higher wages and a good shot at winning stuff in the future then good luck to him. We're not a one man team.

. We're not a one man team?.neither are salford but it seems offiah and now terry oconor seem to think we are. its getting 2 the stage where i am thinking if he wants to go let him go its a bit much when a 19 year old is getting has much press coverage has the rest has his own team.i also think widnes are due a sell on fee because every time mr oconor sees him i think he is going to have an orgasm

| Clearly the only attraction of going to Wire is the presence of the England coach - we saw it before with Noble & Coley - I suspect we may be seeing it again.
It's a very short career in the top flight of RL, and ultimately if young Mr Myler is made an offer that Salford can't match he'd have to consider it, I don't think anyone could blame him.
There is ONLY one way to stop this happening and that's to increase the status of Salford City Reds, at the moment with the lack of stadium progress I feel rather pessimistic about that.

Or offer him the money it would take to keep him. Quite simply, we don't have it. Even when the stadium is built, we won't have it.

Why would Widnes be due a fee. The club that held his registration went bust. He didn't have a valid contract and was a free agent.
I would suggest Myler speaks to Tim Hartley, the last young hopeful we had.
It is all about balance, we should improve his contract and sign the other players, but not be held to ransom by Offiah.
As long as he goes withy the dignity shown by hodgy I have no problem

At this delicate time of his career a move to wire will eather make him or break him, their fans are not as forgiving as we are, if he doesnt hit the ground running and running hard they will get on his back.
We have all seen it if wire are not in the top 3 come playoff time they will be looking for a scapegoat, the press are building him up and without the neccessary support around him (which i dont think he'll get at wire) and the time to develop he will suffer and wire will just go though the motions like normal.
His career will be in ruins, Wire will go and buy a big name ozzie to replace him/make him a side show player rather than their main man, two years down the line he is released and another career in ruins.
He is only 19 he could give us 3 more years, complete his development physically and mentally and then move on possibly to someone bigger than wire if we havnt moved on sufficiently to quench his thurst for success.

| I think Offiah and his contacts in the media have done one hell of a job building Myler up into something out of all recognition.
How abpount some scored out of 10 for the essential aspects of a scrum half:
Confidence in own ability - 10
Organising the team - 8
Defence - 5
Kicking - 7
Creative passing - 8
Backing up skills - 10
The camera was never off him on Saturday, even though some of his team mates had better games.
Is he is good scrum half by Salfords standards? Absolutely.
Is he a world beater? Offiah only has this chance to make us all believe it, as in 3 years time he will need to be the finished article and Hudderfield may be his best hope (Robinson).
