I hope you're right. I'm always the pessimist however (that’s what years of watching Salford does to you) I just don't see why he needs to mention leaving, must admit it’s got me slightly worried the fact he's obviously contemplated it!!!

In principle Dr Koukash is just reiterating what he said pre takeover.
>He's not a Sugar Daddy who will endlessly bankroll an under performing club.
>His Aim was to improve the squad on field, then evolve the structure of the Club so that income would come in in the future independent of the Chairmen's resources.

Read the article, take in what he is quoted as saying and reflect for a few minutes. I think you will then see what a determined individual he is. He takes personal control, he is determined to make us a top team, all positives. The only possible negatives you are focusing on is his "I will walk away" statement. But that has a caveat, which is if he can't deliver what he is promising. So sit back, enjoy the ride, and don't forget most on here bemoaned:lack of ambition, lack of press coverage etc. Well not anymore it would appear, I am more than happy with the ambition and determination shown in the article.

Looks to me like what he's said has been twisted (no surprises there) for another sensationalist article. It doesn't say anywhere that he'll walk if we're not top 4. Rather, it says he would leave if he wasn't 'capable' of bringing success.

Still, it gives the usual lot, who obviously have nothing better to do, a chance to get frothing at the mouth with excitement at the prospect of us failing.

Obviously the MEN making a 'sensation' over something Dr K said. It's very easy to take something out of context and run with it.

The headline is deliberately misleading. Hinting at going. In reality he is saying that he is determined to turn us into a successful side.

Much of this article is either taken from or coincides with an interview in Rugby League World.

The interview there makes it very obvious that he's not quitting: in fact he states that when he says he will succeed, he does.
He does not come over as a quitter: the opposite. He has survived being forced from his home in the 67 war, being a boy soldier in a civil war, realising that his degree was not going to get him his hoped objectives so upped it to a PhD so well that he was asked to become a lecturer, took up horse-racing and became very quickly one of the most successful owners ... all this in the interview

Does anyone else feel this could be to put a bit of pressure on the RFL & SL about the salary cap? If he leaves that's be another team in crisis. I personally don't think there's anything to worry about. I really don't think he would just leave us high & dry, especially if he gets a piece of the stadium.
