Has anyone else noticed that we seem to be going through a second Red Devilution? So far we've signed twelve players for next season (including those that are here already): Locke, BJB, MCB, J. Griffin, Dobson, Groat, Hood, Menzies, Forster, G. Griffin, England, Hauraki... probably some others I've forgotten about. We've had the February Red Devilution and are now heading for the October one. I suppose Marwan does look a bit like Lenin.
Perhaps not quite as much upheaval as last year, but it's still a fairly big change.

Dobson missed the NSW cup grandfinal with a broken foot.
Don't think it is too bad.
He should be good for pre season.
He is still walking about on it.

I bet all the forwards we have, are going to have to play out of their skin to be kept on. Should be good competition for places next season

An opportunity exists on Sunday,at Headingley,at the Championship Grand Final between Oldham and Hunslet to see whether Liam Hood is better than Gareth Owen,and how good Ford and Tyson perform on a Super League pitch.
I'm not sure of the squads,of course,but some of the players should be playing. |

All three have played on Super League pitches on many occasions, though how that is relevant is debatable. The Owen v Hood match up will, perhaps, be the most telling, and Ford, named in the C1 dream team (or whatever they call it) will, I am sure, perform well.
I hope Tyson does as well, if he gets the chance, but he is no longer on Salford's books.
It's a shame that Oldham's Adam Files has spent most of the season injured. While still on contract with Salford last year, he too was named in the C1 dream team while on loan at Oldham, but didn't get his contract renewed at Salford, even before the injury which has kept him out. As a hooker, Adam, I think, would have been a revelation to many rugby league fans as he has superb vision and speed around the ruck, but, for whatever reason didn't suit the powers that be at this time last year, probably because they never actually taken the time to watch him.
As much as we all love it, this is a very fickle game.

Shame about George Tyson if correct , I had him down as a safe bet to progress.
i think it hard to criticize the current coaching set up ,Evalds - Jordan Walne have fought off more senior squad to cement their place in the 2015 squad.
Harris stats ended 8 wins -1 draw from 20 , but 6 of those wins came in the last 9 games , and he has to be credited for bringing in Josh Griffin who ended with 8 tries & 27 goals.
the Championship players they have brought in they obviously have identified as having potential and more importantly fitting in with a squad system he wants to operate next season.
in some ways the step up from academy is purely luck ( injuries - and taking their chance ) , some times that luck never arrives .
