| Has anybody got hold of this years company accounts? Would be interesting to see the incomings and outgoings. It was mentioned on Sky last year that all superleague clubs receive one million pounds a year from Sky and there are some clubs that don't even spend that on the salary cap - are Salford one of these? Also the Salford club has some of the best sponsorship deals in RL (so we're led to believe?) added to that, plus any scraps from season ticket holders and full match day paying supporters along with programme/meat & potatoe pie and beers sales and match day sponsors/ball sponsors and the like. I know its no wonder that we can't compete with the rich clubs, its not something I'm looking at either but when people start whinging about supporters not departing with their hard earned and sponsoring the likes of FR's or donating to charity walks I sometimes wonder is that all necessary?
Could somebody more prudent and scrupulous run a superleague club with around 1.5 million pounds a year income (maybe more?) given that a 3 year licence is guaranteed and not run it into the ground?

Unfortunately it's not that simple....
The last accounts filed at Companies House were for the year ended 30/11/2010
The next due date for filing is 31/08/2012 which will be the accounts for the year to 30/11/2011
So basically the accounts information you can get hold of for a private limited company (The SALFORD FOOTBALL CLUB COMPANY(1914)LIMITED - Company No: 00137072) is effectively two years out of date by the time you get it.

One other thing. It's worth looking at how Seattle Sounders F.C. regularly attract 35,000 a week (nearly 70,000 in a recent play-off game) in a sport that is at least forth or fifth down the list in American spectator sports. They are the most watched team in the MLS and they have achieved all this in just a handful of years in existence.

Good marketing i agree, but it's probably just as much to do with the inability due to prohibitive cost of say, NFL fans, being able to follow their team away from home during the season. Fans are likely to go watch the next best alternative (bit like Leigh fans going to watch Salford at home whilst Leigh are away etc)

No it's more likely that people ( mostly women ) have realised that American Football is a load of bollox , and are taking their kids to watch something resembling a real sport , one where you don't have to be a freak of nature to actually play it
Plus it is still from their own town/city , unlike your Leigh , Salford analogy , perhaps if Leigh still had a semi pro football club playing at the stadium that was actually built for it , people would have been going to watch them
You lot will be okay anyway , you'll be able to watch Sale next winter

| According to Mr Pete Scholes, Simms is the cancer the cancer in club and he needs taking out by the throat. That view is not just from the fans, but from players and coaching staff alike past and present. He's an Aussie who sponges of the club. Are we happy to take that? Because from where i'm standing it seems like we're happy, Mr no bad word against him Wilkinson is always right, forget about about the countless head coaches we've had they're all .
I predict we will not be here in 3 years, we'll be gone. Anyone who thinks different are mugs. In this part of the world no one cares about RL never mind sh*t RL. We only have ourselves to blame.rl]RIP SALFORD RLFCrl]
PS - Our kids Simms and Tarry out banner was spot on.

American Football is still by far and away the most popular sport viewer/attendance/participation wise in the US. Are you suggesting then that these numbers are falling? is there any evidence of that?
Perhaps using Leigh and Salford as examples wasn't the best, even though i'm sure there have been Leigh fans on here who mention they attend our games on occasion. But seeing as you mention same town/city, maybe mentioning Leigh and Wigan would be more appropriate

College football has a bigger spectator base in the States than NFL, from speaking to my ex in-laws over there many people feel less and less affiliation to the NFL teams because the owners are more interested in profits than the fans where as college football is more a community thing.
