Theo is signed on for 5 years if I'm not mistaken? So time and contract are on his side whoever comes in.

Correct Butcher, 19 in August, thought of very highly by Alan Hunte I know for sure. Have heard that Longy also thinks he is a star in the making and has taken him under his wing. Can't agree with another poster who wants Niall at centre, another half back for me, but prefers full back himself. Still great that we are talking about teenagers who are the future of the club. Interesting that in the 17 for the last two games we have had six players that were playing under 20's last season. Sneyd, Edwin, Theo, Owen, Walne and Murphy (at Wigan) and two of these are still only 18, Theo and Edwin.

Re Jean Capdouze's comments I think its inevitable that a new coaching combination coming in are going to look to sign an established, experienced pair of half backs ASAP, if the stated aim is to be competing for silverware within a season or two that would have to be the case.
BUT as others have said, these lads have time on their side, given the chance to be brought on in the company of other experienced players I see great things ahead for a few of them!!

Sorry Evalds isn't big enough for a centre.

Though do see some mileage in Foran playing at loose, want to know why we haven't seen Ford given a crack in the centres yet as he looked like the most likely from the under 20's last season.

Ford got injured whilst playing for Oldham, think he isn't far off being fit again, if not already.

This article from Barker is worthy of note. Could be quite negative for all parties...

Theo is a fantastic talent and one we need to protect and nurture. The disgusting attack earlier in the season by Bousquet could of really damaged his confidence, but quite the opposite , he appears willing to take the line on and take a battering for the shirt. I admire his talent and determination. I would love to build our future team around him, and hopefully if Ratchford is to ever return home we could have a blend of naturally gifted young players. Theo clearly loves playing for Salford and is the perfect marketing poster boy for our bright future.

I agree. The big problem for me is what the new incoming coach thinks. Noble does not have the best record when it comes to youngsters. I'd hate to think that he'll be pushed to the sidelines indefinitely as a young player in a key role will want to be playing and improving. He doesn't strike me as the kind of lad that dwells on negatives, more the kind of character that will go and prove others wrong, which might serve him well in the not too distant future. The Salford fans have taken him to heart, one look at this thread shows that rarest of things. All of us agreeing.

I just hope that a change of management doesn't mean he'll be pushed to the periphery, isolated, and ultimately wants away.

Not solely aimed at Theo, but all half-backs,I noticed this on the FC Forum the other day.
As it mentions Sean Long and it is an excellent idea thought I would pop it on rlHERErl

Barker and worthy note? really!

Parrish's view isn't one I would take, he wasn't here long enough to make a call.

I can't believe we are passing verdict on players under 21, they have time to develop lets hope we allow it.

Seems a very talented lad but seems to find it tough in defence. Probably due to a lack of protection inside him?

Always tough for any young lad breaking into SL and ideally you need them protecting by a bit of beef in the back row or . Both he and Sneyd look like real prospects for you guys but its a big ask for any side to carry two youngsters in key positions!

There you go then! Obviously Foran has experience but hasn't played 'first grade' in a while and its a new league and team for him to get used too.

No doubt all the youngsters will get great benefit out of all the game time but it will more often than not see results suffer alongside it short term if all thrown in together.
