| Sneyd was absolutely woeful against a very poor Castleford at Weldon Road - but then if Smith could have found touch with a simple grubber we'd still have won . I agree he is worth a decent run out and shouldn't be judged on the sporadic appearances he has been offered so far. His goal kicking alone looks exceptional.

| Athe moment Sneyd and Fages are both not the answer for Salford in Super league. Both are good prospects but definately not SL standard at the moment. We need an experienced 6 and 7 for the next 12 months and build as we go along, our two youthfull half backs will get buried this season if left in the two most crucial positions on the park and this will do more harm than good in the long run.
I dont think Howarth could fit in either after watching his performances at half back last season, he isnt going to guide us up the table!

| Trouble is, if you don't give youngsters the chance at SL how do they become SL standard?
Personally, it's the perfect time to blood young players. We the fans have no expectations for the season, there's no relegation, I say let them build their confidence. Let them gel. Let them get some experience under their belts.
They may thrive and surprise a few, or they may not. Sticking a couple of has-beens in there will do little for our season if the young lads sit on the bench getting frustrated.

| Totally agree - now is the time to blood the lads as we have nothing to lose in doing so.

| Blood them by all means, giving them occaisional game time, but dont ruin them, breaking there confidence when they are getting humiliated by experienced SL halves.
Sneyd and Fages as a starting partnership would be crazy. Bring them off the bench as we have done with the likes of Owen, and give them a chance to acclimatise to the rigors of SL, then hopefully they will both flourish into class SL half backs.

| If they are good enough they will flourish just like Ritchie Myler did.

It has to be done. There'll be some who adapt easily, others that take longer and some that fail. Hopefully with your long term prospects more stable than for a long time you'll be able to bring through players of the first category, get them embedded into the first team while developing players in the second category by loaning them out to teams without the means to develop their production lines.

His reply was " yes , as long as we finish top of the eight " !!!

| Congratulations to everyone from a Wire fan and RL devotee - great news for the game in general but especially your speccies - you really deserve it.
I just hope this is the catalyst for RL gaining wider exposure in the Manchester area and for the Salford club (and especially their fans) to enjoy some success ............... except against Wires of course!
Get stuck into them pie-eaters!

| ...And people say the franchise system isn't working.
Has anyone maybe thought that the game was in so much debt in the first place because of the pressure on clubs to spend the salary cap to not become relegated? Clubs do seem to be at their brink of financial stress, but it seems like these kinds of takeovers will be aided by the franchise system. They will eventually lift the sport and give it some much needed momentum.
