| hmmm,
Our recruitment policy so far reminds me of the John Harvey years ' Jim Smith , Craig Makin, types' .
we had some real duffers , however we also got some pretty creditable performers ( Darren Brown , Kris Tassell etc ). so lets give him he benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
Salford will be Gloucester born James 7th Club, Played 15 times for Crusaders this season mainly at interchange prop.
maybe with a good pre-season we will have inherited a useful addition to our squad . remember he featured heavily in the 2010 Brian Noble side that reached a play off position .
Quote: "Celtic are James' 6th club having previously played for Sheffield, Castleford and perhaps most famously for Swinton/Wigan, there Ian Millward decided that James was good enough to step in after an injury crisis at the JJB. However after only 6 appearances, he went to Widnes and to Celtic at the start of 2008 where he became a regular in the front row.'"

| Jordan James was a decent player for us, Swinton lions but that was obviously at Championship 1 level and he was around 26 then.Very good defender but as someone pointed out not strong at making yards.
It doesn't make sense Salford signing him if there ambition is a strong young side to get them out of the bottom tier of Super league.

| Jordan will prove to be a valuable signing!! Strong in deffence in the middle of the pitch is EXACTLY what you are lacking at the moment, and atleast he cant take a flat ball to the line at speed!!
Let him play before judging him, think hes played in all 8 of the Crusaders last 8 matches at starting prop not bad considering all your opinions of him on here

I agree with you as I have also previousley said I shall wait to see how he performs in a Reds shirt prior to making any judgment. I think our fans views are that he doesnt seem to be the high calliber of player we are expecting to sign to fill big Ray's boots.

| Fans can feel underwhelmed by signings. That's fine. But we should not cast judgement on someone until they actually play for us. Players can be invigorated by a Club switch. Good players in one side may become mediocre in another and mediocre players can shine and become good players in others.
Pre-judgement is a human failing. Let JJ's performances dictate how you feel.

| Listening to Matt during the recent interview, he sees JJ "toughening up" the defence and appears to rate him as a professional pretty highly.
Like my lad says: a switch of clubs can alter a lot of things for a player. If he's good enough for Matt, he's good enough for me.

I'm really hoping the signings of Gledhill and James are more, Finnigan and Wilshire, than Jim Smith and Makin.
If Sidlow can't reach his potential, still think we need to sign a better quality prop.

You can't polish a Turd , but you can roll it in glitter ...
smacks of a Harrison era ' pet project ' signing
Last pre season it was all ' top 8 ' we're going to sign Sinfield & Morley Etc, to the point where performances were never going to meet the hysteria.
low key signings could work in the new coach's favour;- everyone will write us off and better than average performances will add to the Parish myth like status,
However JJ like signings arn't going to make pre season ticket sales fly.
