There was a copy of this floating around our office the other week and I had a quick scan.

I'd be ashamed ever to pick it up again, makes the RL content of the MEN seem like Pulitzer prize winning material by comparison.

I’ve already posted my thoughts on Twitter. Absolute Joke of a publication that’s got a massive axe to grind with Salford RLFC, Peel Holdings, Salford City Council and Martin Vickers. There is obviously no smoke without fire and we don’t help ourselves as a club by giving them the ammunition to publish stuff like this, but boy they don’t half like to fabricate the truth a hell of lot, this particular paragraph would suggest exactly that:

“Meanwhile, reports are rife on social media of one player having to sell his car to get money, others not having the rent paid on their houses and many star players having major difficulties getting money owed to them from the club. An informed source told the Salford Star that the rumours are `mostly true'”.

I don’t believe for a second a player has had to sell his car and neither to the Salford Star because the rumours are apparently only ‘mostly true’. Why post them then?

I got offered a free one a couple of weeks back and told them where to go because of the constant tripe spouted about this club.

Have a look at what it says on the about us section of their website;

“We showcase what's ace in the City, dig up Real Salford Heritage, give new writers and artists a chance to express themselves, and get Salford celebs to contribute…”

Isn’t the City’s only professional sports team a great thing about the City? Don’t we have great ‘Real Salford Heritage’? Maybe they should try digging some of that up instead blaming the club for what they believe were mistakes made by the Council from which the rugby club has benefited.

Are but,what if its true.

Then get some proof and publish some facts

Could Salford sue them for an article like this? Fuming at their drivel on Salford RLFC

If the statements are false and Salford can prove it has affected their reputation then it could be classed Libel and therefore the club could sue

One might be a symptom of the other. If Companies House receive no accounts and/or communication, they’ll file a proposal to strike off. It’s not unknown for dormant companies to be wound up because their director(s) have forgot about them. So if this is the case, Salford Star are hardly likely to get a response either, whether they have a vendetta with Vickers or not.

The asset value of the paper is not the point. Dr K is a billionaire and would most likely donate the damages to charity.

A successful man like Dr K will surely value his good name, his integrity , his standing in the community and the image of the club?

If 'challengable content' is being turned out 2 or 3 times a year it is surprising that Dr K has not nailed it....yet.

Another abysmal article full of guesses and conjecture written on the back of total nonsense from social media. Any journalist putting together such articles should be locked up. Twitter is one of the worst things ever to happen to humanity... allowing any moron (and most people are morons) a voice.

Never a truer word spoken.

Ave it, I did not say it was true,I said what if it is true. The good Doctor will inform us one way or another.

Hopefully the docs latest tweet, puts this to bed.
