| Dates been set for the 25th April. Anyone going? What we think the outcome going to be?
It appeared someone got Marwan with an April fools joke saying we inline for a 6 point deduction. His response was strong saying he'd take it to the highest court if that was the case.

| Really concerned about this and cant see past anything but a substantial points deduction. Perhaps that is me fearing the worst, but I just cant see how we're going to get ourselves out of it.

Would any points deduction come in next season rather than this season

| Give us a points deduction that consigns us to the "bottom eight": no problem.
Give us a point deduction when we are in the bottom eight: interesting times.

Your problem is if they give you a points deduction bigger than the points you accumulate up to the end of round 23, and then have to start the middle eight's on minus the deficit points you failed to pull back. Good luck anyway.

| Last year all teams in the mid 8s reverted to nil points at the start of the competition: has it changed?

| Isn't the precedent 2/4 points? How could they justify more?

No I don't think it has, but working on the assumption that the RFL find you guilty who in their right mind would predict the outcome of the penalty they would incur on you, a fine I'm sure you could cope with but a massive points deduction is another matter, especially if they make them to run consecutive to what ever league your in.
Looking at it from the outside it certainly looks like they're doing their upmost to nip this in the bud and perhaps make an example.

Because those deductions were on the back of the RFL's failure to provide clear rules on things such as image rights. The clubs involved hadn't set out to break the cap as Salford are alleged to have done.

I thought when Wigan got punished for it and deducted points it was to do with the fact they signed Stuart Fielden from the Bulls. They knew full well that it would push them past the salary cap but it would help to prevent relegation and they wouldn't be punished until the next season.

That's not really the full story though is it? They knew it would push them passed the limit, but got other players to defer wages until the following season. So, while they didn't spend more than the cap they did in the words of the panel "break the spirit of the cap" which is why they were punished.

| What we do not know is what were the procedures followed by RLHQ when the tribunal information came to light. We are sure that this has been disussed and that the action followed senior decisions. Not that I think they were objective: we seem to have political (small p) deliberations which have delayed the matter: it is possible, and maybe (IMO) probable if Sadler's comments refer to this, that RL HQ were aware of the matter in the year that Bradford were relegated. This opens up the possibility that Mr Green could take action against RLHQ.
For more than us this will be squeaky posterior time.

| The greatest problem you have when it comes to the RFL and any points deductions is the two teams languishing at the bottom
