Just been looking at this article...

rlClick merl

Certainly helps our cause somewhat, although Cas is not a happy hunting ground for us at any time. Will be a tough fixture regardless.

Hello mate, yes its not ideal for us as they have been 3 of our best performers this season.

However hopefully we will have Ollie Holmes back in the forwards and for my money he is one of the most underrated forwards in super league.

We also have young Rocky Hampshire on loan to cover half back. Whilst I would never want any of our first choice half backs to be injured I have really been looking forward to seeing how Rocky goes after his displays in the friendlies.

Other teams have been having to cope with big injury lists and we are no different but the biggest loss is our captain Shenton out for the season due to an illegal tackle that saw the guilty player banned for only 4 games.

Hoping a few of you will travel over and I for one will applaud Justin when he runs out.

How do Fella!

While I think that this current Salford side is the best 'team' I've seen in a long time, and our injury list is surprisingly small with only our long term injuries to return. It's still a big ask to go to Cas and pick up the points. With both teams losing the previous week they're both going to want to put in better performances, and if both teams play to their best a great game will be on the cards. A lot will be made of Carney's return to Cas but I think it could be to the tigers detriment if they concentrate on making his return uncomfortable at the expense of keeping their eyes on the game.

For what it's worth I think it will be a close game with home advantage bringing home the two points.

This is a game for me will set the tone for the next few weeks, we have for the improved performances let's not forget only won 2 games, even if it is not a just reward for the performances. The next 5 games have have a real chance of winning, win 3 out of 5 and for me we have gone a good way to ensuring that points deductions aside we make the top 8.

I get the feeling that the Salford carnival is about the roll back into town with the salary cap issues, I'd be much happier if the performances offer a distraction unlike compounding our misery as issues have over the last 2 or 3 season since the Doc took control.

Cas away is always a tricky fixture but these injuries can't do our chances any harm.

When was the last time we won at Cas?

I remember winning there in 2004, but can't think of any wins since.

2004 was absolutely heartbreaking. You should of beat us in 2008 think you were 24 8 up with 10 to play. Willie Manu scored very late on taking a few players with him over the line. And you deffo had the game all but won in 2014 when Webster scored with the last play of the game. I think you'll sneak a close 1 this week, Shenton roberts moors Millington are huge voids to fill. Any abuse won't phase carney, he's prone to a mistake but he's also as strong as an ox and dangerous.

What kind of reception do you think Carney will get? Given the number of tries he scored for the club and the fact he is still a Cas player, it would be madness for anyone to boo him surely?

Disagree it would be madness. What he did was a real scum bags trick and ultimately he won't ever play for Cas again. I appreciated him whilst at Cas but what he did could have totally split the club to pieces. It seems most have moved on okay from it to my knowledge.

99% sure he will be. We are down to the bare bones after saints and he wasn't 1 of the troops who failed to come back on so yeah I fully expect him to start at 13.

I wouldn't say Cas are down to the bare bones i know they have 4 players missing but that still looks a capable squad to me

[iYeah their backline looks dangerous, They don't look lightweight in the pack either with their so called highlighted injury problems. I'm expecting a cracking game with a high scoring result just favouring Salford. 0-8 points.[/i

So called? We are missing Shenton moors Millington roberts and mariano. All very good players , strike players. It's a capable squad but massively weakened compared to what it could be.
