| Just got home from work and found the stream of the Leeds & Warrington game and Eddie was on.
I thought that he was gone?
More radio commentary and TV pictures it is then.

| It's like the Keys/Gray situation with the Premier League football a few years ago. They were well past their sell buy date. Eddie & Stevo have done their best over the years but there's nothing fresh or insightful. I feel that Sky need two completely new/younger faces offering a modern slant on the game. The rest of the Sky crew are OK but even they have been there for a few years now. If you get a job with Sky Sports on Superleague it's a job for life.

The trouble with Sky injecting life back into its SL broadcasts is that it first needs to give a toss about RL. The indications to me is that they don't really care. They've cut back magazine shows year after year, and now squeeze a couple of SL games around their mountain of Premier league broadcasts and shows.
I think Sky will just promote what they already have rather than find new talent, so I wouldn't expect anyone or anything new when Laurel and Hardy finally retire.

| [iSky's coverage needs a complete overhaul. If you compare it with Australia's Channel 9 their format and insight within the game heavily out guns our dismal coverage. I find the commentary team quite drab compared to Ray Warren, Gus Gould, Joey and Sterlo. We have to prostrate ourselves week in week out to Stevo, Eddie, Clarkey, Terry and Baz Mac. The likes of Hanley, Offiah, Schofield and Gregory and more Rugby League legends should be involved within the format like Lockyer, Tallis, Fittler and Vautin are on The Nine Network. I find Paul Cullens commentary very knowledgeable and insightful like Gary Neville was for Sky punditry. However IMHO Gus Gould punditry for reading a game pi55es all over any pundit in any sport. The format and commentary, punditry needs one hell of a shake up.[/i

Spot on.
The Australians seem to have a knack of picking the right people for commentary, especially ex-players. Their focus is on the game and highlighting the best parts, whereas Sky coverage is all about the contentious issues, and making drama out of negatives.

| If you missed the game there was only a 15 mins highlights slot later on, didn't even repeat the full game like they used to.

| Stephenson just latches onto one aspect of the game and just won't let it go like a dog with a bone. The Leeds game it was their decision not to go for goal and today Catalan not playing wet weather football. He and his side kick have outlasted their sell by date by many seasons.

| Stevo's constant cliches just annoy me now. 'They need to utilise the dummy runners', 'the French outfit', 'the little chip over the top', 'he needs to get the message out'. Just go Stevo. Please.

| Totally agree with Flat Stanley,
Even the coverage and the promotion of rugby league, never mind the people who are doing need throwing out.
I am just watching the Nines from New Zealand game after game, the coverage is out of this world, don't have to say any more to be honest.
Bye bye stevo and co.
Premier sports should be covering the Super league.

I agree, watched the 9's and it shone just how much talent is available for broadcasters, always say it but when Andrew Voss and Noble worked the world cup together they had a brilliant on air rapport.
I'd personally start again if I were Sky, not one of the current presenters is worth keeping on, Eddie and Stevo are just boring, Carney for me is clueless and has the most annoying accent imaginable, McDermott and O'Connor are just cringe worthy.
If pushed Jon Wells and possibly Phil Clarke might cut it but the rest not on any level worthy or presenting such a brilliant spectacle.

| Sky simply don't care because no-one else wants to put RL on the TV (and include the BBC in that)...
So they just do as little as possible knowing this plus
a) We'll all tune in an watch games anyway - because we want to see rugby on tv
b) No other channel will bother trying to ever out bid them for it!
We really need some one like ITV, Channel 4 or Premier to actually up their ante and try to compete with Sky when the Super League contract is up... but they won't and we are stuck with SKY and have to be "happy" we get the coverage we do! *sigh*

| The quality of the coverage, the quality of the pundits, the stream of adverts for Sky & various betting/bookmakers and the fact that Sky won't offer a sports package that doesn't include football means I watch the streams via 'other' streams.
