Hock posted on his own Twitter feed: “I have now left Salford.

Gutted about this as i was hoping for a big season from him. Dispite his problems he was a quality rugby player.

If the season does not become as successful as we hope ([sizeas usual[/size), and we end up playing Leigh to save us from relegation; I fear Hock's and Dixon's input. It would not be nice for us.

I hope that the RFL has a good support mechanism in place for when Gaz leaves professional rugby altogether. We don't want another Terry Newton scenario on our hands.

Yes got some decent back rowers not worried about that position. Paterson, Hansen, Hauraki, Walton, Gee, Lannon, J.Walne i think were ok |

In a sense, this sums up my thoughts to a tee. We will be a better team without Gareth Hock in it BUT I am disappointed that it didn’t work out, everyone in RL knows what a player he is on his day but we only ever seen glimpses of that (this was despite the immense support of the clubs owner, head coach and supporters). |
