| Can anyone who's on the board keep us up to date what was said recently. I see on the Dr twitter he said that it was a very good fans board meeting. Can anyone who's on it please tell us what was said?

| Very unusually, little has been reported about what has been discussed at the meetings.
Is it possible that members have been asked to hold their own counsel ?

Which kind of defeats the object really.
There needs to be a central point where fans can gain info and put forward suggestions. For me, the easiest thing to do would be for the Club to set up a 'Salford Fans Board' account on Twitter. Even though not everyone uses Twitter, there's always someone around who does and can fill others in. Salford fans could then gain the info they want and can feed back stuff. All it takes is for one of the current 'Board members' to take a few pertinent suggestions off the account for discussion at the next meeting.

Fist time I've agreed with you Butcher
Completely agree though, my fear before this started was that it would be an "us and them"mentality between some of the fans who were on the board and those who weren't. I dont think this has actually happened yet, but I am curious as to why all of the members of the fans board now seem to be religiously defending the regime whenever there is a contentious decision made by the club. A bit of honesty from some members would be nice rather than the usual licking of Dr K on twitter.

| You would hope the individuals chosen to represent the supporters on the board are strong willed enough to disagree with Koukash and Vickers on any subject they don’t agree with as opposed to becoming yes men and thinking they need to appease them.

But mate that wouldn't work as everyone is mates with everyone else and get overly matey with everyone else s mates and then there mates in turn. It's like an advert for Durex's main rivals.
I've read some of the posts to the Doc from Salford fans and they are borderline close to getting a staring role in that new series Stalker! likewise some of the posts from fans of other boards are just petty and purile.
I can see no rhyme nor reason that there is not more feedback on the meetings, I have a feeling that those attending are given less freedom of speech than they thought they might get and are subjected more to moans from the board along the lines of why don't more people turn up and what have you.

| Im not on the board, but have been told there is no 'top secret, confidential' stuff.
The main topic was the marketing, with the new company being introduced.
They mentioned moving the training from the ground, as the SMC charge us quite a lot to use the facillities.
And a game at the etihad campus was mentioned, to try and get other interest, and reduce costs.
I stand to be corrected.
And they apologised for the kit not being what was agreed on.

Particularly after the expense of fitting out the gym and players room. Whilst I don't know how much the SMC, it must surely be reflective of other facilities nearby such as the Leigh Sports Village etc.
I know it was mentioned a while back that they were looking at the prospect of taking over ownership of Man City's Carrington complex.

Unfortunatley we can't really make that conclusion as the "object" of the board has never actually been publicised. I said early on that there should be some terms of referencee, but at the mo we're all guessing. It could be that the club just want to use it as a representative focus group to use as a sounding board for things (which can then be ignored if wanted) - many focus group style things don't consult or seek wider input, because in theory they have been chosen as being representative of the group they have been picked from in the frist place.
Until we know more about the purpose, it's hard to judge the effectiveness. All I have concluded so far from what I've read is that the club managed to score a PR own goal with how it handled the "consultation" on the new shirts.

From what Ive seen most of the members are turning into voluntary Yes Men for the regime.
Not sure why, as from what I understand they are giving up their own free time and paying there own travel expenses to go to the meetings. With this in mind it seems sort of pointless to go so much out of your way in order to just nod your head and agree with everything the owner does.

From what i can gather, there isnt much to say yes or no, to.
Its more of a discussion.
As i said, maybe someone can correct me.
Oh, and they have asked if anyone will take minutes at future meetings.

That's a fairly ignorant comment. I'm not entirely sure what you're basing it on.
I'm on the fans panel (calling it a 'board' really is over-egging the omelette at this stage). It costs me a lot of time, effort and inconvenience to get there, and I've neither asked for or received travel expenses.
I can't and won't speak try to speak for any other members of the panel, but I'm disappointed (although not entirely shocked) that some people are assuming that everyone who's stepped forward has done so to 'cosy up' with Marwan
Koukash. It's smacks of a bitterness.
FWIW, I have and will continue to question/challenge the club at these meetings when things are put forward that I disagree with or, more importantly, won't benefit the club. If you're unhappy that minutes haven't been produced/distributed, direct your frustration at the club rather than those who are giving up their time for free.

I wouldn't take offence at what Marion has written, she seems to have an agenda and/or axe to grind so finds fault in the club and it's current dealings. I suspect one of the old faithful has re invented themselves.
